My dad almost accidently left me on a TO subway when I was a kid. He thought I was right behind him as he headed for the door, but I was reading or looking out the window or something and didn't notice he'd gotten up from his seat.

I still have flashbacks of the panic I felt as I saw him walking out the door without me, knowing how quickly they open and close.
