Apparently, you don’t win friends with salad, especially when you throw booze in the mix.
One-third of vegetarians admit they eat meat every time they’ve had too much to drink, according to a survey published last week in The Independent, based out of the U.K.
In fact, two in five of the 1,789 so-called herbivores that participated in the survey, conducted by a coupon website, Voucher Codes Pro, confessed up to sneaking a kebab after getting drunk.
And one in three people said they ate meat every time they went out drinking.
Some of the main carnivorous food groups the veggie fraudsters found they could not resist were bacon (27%), fried chicken (19%) and sausages (14%).
But at the top of the food chain were kebabs at 39% and burgers at 34%.
The vegetarians surveyed admitted they felt guilty over their lapses.
“I know a few ‘vegetarians’ who sometimes crave meat, but it seems that a few are giving into their cravings when drunk,” Voucher Codes Pro founder George Charles told the Independent.
“I think it’s important for friends of these ‘vegetarians’ to support them when drunk and urge them not to eat meat as I’m sure they regret it the next day.”
