Never think you're too young to have high blood pressure, went in for tests today because of some ailments and found out I was a ticking time bomb. 178 over 116.

Explains my constant headaches and other but damn!!

I'm only 48. So now I have to take 2 pills twice a day to stay alive for the rest of my life. It's spooky how frail life really is.

My only advice is no matter how well or semi well you feel, get tested before you get info as my doc told me today.

Hanging out on HUBGFE is a great way to have fun and lower blood pressure and getting laid will help to reduce stress. ;/Waving://

Your doctor would approve.

Pills will help control the high blood pressure, but you can also do things to help yourself and get off the pills. Assuming you are not overweight (if you are, drop some pounds), high blood pressure is often a symptom of a stressful or upset life: chill out a bit more, learn to relax. Also, control what you eat a bit more. Foods like bacon (gasp!) and anything really salty will not help, but if you can reduce, your BP will lower itself. That doesn't mean give up bacon (Hallelujah!) or salt altogether, just control the amount you eat a bit more and find alternatives if you love salt on everything.

Was about to say that :blush2:

This isn't a "one up" post.

I'm 2 years older than you, and a few months back wasn't feeling well. I drove myself to the ER where I was treated with the typical level of care that nurses give. I.E. : Couldn't care less and obviously I was wasting their time, but I pointed out that I thought I had a stroke because I normally don't limp and can't move my right arm. Long story short - BP was 240/160 - I did have a stroke - they moved me immediately into ICU, where I spent the next 2 weeks, then a stroke unit for 3 and then a stroke hospital for 2 months. I'm on meds that cost me over 300 a month, and basically my day is punctuated by my meds.
So yes, please go and get checked on a regular basis.

The worst isn't dying. The worst is surviving and not being able to wipe your own ass or hold your cock to take a piss.

Another FYI: I was first diagnosed as having high blood pressure when I was in my early 20's.

Thanks for letting us know what you've been through. Hope you're feeling better Silvio. :BigHug:

Hey shit happens but you really can't live your life worrying about your health constantly.

My dad always said that, till he had to suffer through his mistakes.

I'm not suffering but look at it this way: I'm always craving a nice thick juicy steak, with butter and a big scoop of mashed potatoes and gravy, followed by a nice creme brule.

I guess I'll eventually have one but it will have to be from the Kid's Menu.
