But you are on the right path with @nntsci spending large sums of money does not necessarily mean doing something for that special someone will be the best idea.
By no means should he look cheap but think outside the box and plan something special for her.
You mentioned indoor skydiving. Niagara Falls has that. maybe a take a limo to Niagara on he lake and stay the night in a vintage hotel. Go indoor skydiving. tour some wine estates.
Go visit the Butterfly Conservatory. Take a midnight stroll to the falls. Have a room at the Hilton or Marriot with a fireplace. Nice bottle of her favourite drink. breakfast in bed.
Part or all of this can be done on a weekend and will not cost huge sums of money just a lot of thinking and planning.

The exceptions then come from either preference or law. In the case of law - which you are citing - some laws also have exceptions and will trump other laws based on which rights are being accepted as having the greater negative impact of each party.

Your idea is what you think would be ideal because of how it pertains to your debate/agenda but I think we can both agree that we don’t want dogs with owners in our favourite fast food joint just because medical assist dogs are allow.

Which businesses do have ave the option to refuse services. Just not for the same reasons that SPs do.

Sounds to me as if you are in favor of Free market enterprise.
Where private service businesses can be picky about their clients.
Where as PUBLIC TRUSTS and Government run agencies can not.

Those who believe in a completely free enterprise I hope are careful and concerned about how and where they buy their food, and anything else they use. If you don't like the government having a hand in business, don't support those businesses that the government has a hand in. IE: many farmers rent their land from the government...and sadly I believe all of the horse slaughter houses in Canada are still federally owned. Btw, Canada is the only country that still legally allows horse slaughter and the exporting of live horses for slaughter....Japan is the importer, they love "live horse meat".Yet other slaughter houses, for beef, pork, chicken, etc, are privately owned, the biggest being Cardil. Government control in this industry is both good and bad...depends on which aspect of it you are considering. When I buy meat for my dogs, I prefer to buy local, from someone who uses a "b" slaughterhouse, one in which the farmer himself kills the animals. They're few and far between but they are out there. But buy your foods from grocery stores, then you are supporting government run businesses, in essence and please where ever you buy, never buy Halal meat, that in all it's treatment is unconscionably cruel.
Sorry to go off on a tangent of slaughter, but it is a complex and interesting topic.
