DON’T NEED PROTECTING
I am an escort and sell sex. According to Peter MacKay’s Bill C-36, I am a victim and need protecting, probably grew up in an abused setting and have a pimp who is living off of me and beating me up. Nothing could be further from the truth. I am university educated, brought up middle class and never abused, by loving parents, and I am not a deviant. I chose my work as a result of being downsized and was economically squeezed. I have only met very nice gentlemen and consider myself fortunate. I set my own hours as I would in an office, have a set of guidelines and rules for clients to abide by and have only had to ask two to leave in my eight years of being in business. I have serviced widowers, caregivers who can’t leave the house, disabled men, married men who don’t get sex but love their wives and do not want an affair, firefighters, cops, execs who are too busy to date, to name a few. These men are hardly perverts. MacKay’s chauvinistic bill is aimed at the street walker who needs help but hurts us all, needlessly.

A beautifully written letter to the Sun from an educated articulate sex worker. It's a shame the editor took it upon himself to post a stupid comment that can apply to many professions but then again The Sun has always sniffed the Conservatives asses! If it wasn't for the Sunshine girl I would never pick up this rag paper.
