....been following a huge whack of SPs on Twitter and it never ceases to amaze me when I see regularly posted pics they put up of expensive lingerie, perfume, jewelry, shoes, exotic travel pics, high end dinners at upscale hot spots, exclusive tickets purchased for concerts/sports events, and expensive wines/liquor.

I'm never sure, as a hobbyist, what message I'm supposed to take from these photos. Is it "Hey guys, buy me expensive shit because I'm high class and I deserve it!"? Or "Hey, look how irresponsible I can be with hard earned money!" or maybe "I'm livin' like a rock star, and most of you shlubs could never afford me!".

I've seen SP's complain about business being slow, or guys cancelling their apts, or complaining about the price of travel to warm destinations, then almost overnight they're posting the results of yet another high end shopping spree, or announcing they'll be off sched for a few weeks until they get back from another trip to (insert impromptu exotic vacation spot here). My absolute favorites are snaps of the SP either high in some random club, or hungover in bed with a caption about "how awesome the party was!" You can't make that stuff up - total comedy gold! LOL!

Now it's not ALL SP's doing this, but enough that the whole twitter thing for SP's really makes me scratch my head sometimes. What the hell is going through these women's heads? I do get the whole marketing through social media fad, but as for the rest - just screams ridiculous, immature, no class, skank, etc., etc....

What do you guys think about the 'SPs on Twitter' phenomenon? Hmmmmmm

It is another avenue for advertising and in the end I'm paying for a party girl so it doesn't bother me. I'm in and out in an hour and I enjoy thinking I'm spending an hour with a wild party girl.

Why bring a bottle of wine or chocolates to a meeting when you are paying high dollars for an hour of business advice?.

Could never figure that one out.

Ah I think I just figured out who you are Louis XIV. And you don't follow me on twitter, so phew! My partying antics with Bumble and Rudolph are safe from scrutiny.

I do think that SPs on twitter who cannot filter themselves should probably create a secondary handle where they can let loose any thought that pops into their heads about clients and whatnot.

Luckily the majority of women I follow are very appealing when they twat err tweet.

I follow a few of these ladies myself, and I find it interesting to a point. But these "high end" ladies are not the kind that I'm seeing anyway. If she's living that kind of lifestyle she's not going to be interested in the piddly amount I can afford to pay.

But everyone should live it up once in a while, and it's fine if it's not the norm. I ate at the Keg last week, didn't go crazy, and it still cost $137 for me and my wife. If I posted that on Twitter everyone would think I'm a pretty big spender (at least, that's pretty big spending to me!). But I don't talk about all the times that I eat at Wendy's or at the mall food court for under $10. Not to mention the KD, the beans and Hungry Man frozen dinners I eat at home. And though it's been a few years since I've had a nice holiday someplace warm I sure don't blame someone for getting away from winter if they can.

If an SP is continually posting this kind of stuff I'm going to lose interest in her pretty quickly and delete her from my Twitter feed. Party girls just aren't my "type" anyway. Oh, look at that--I do have a "type" after all!

Many hobbiest could care less about what the escort does or has. They're more concerned about spending some intimate time with them and possibly fulfilling a fantasy or two with their ideal woman. As far as the "most of you shlubs could never afford me" comment I've never seen an ad for an escort where that notion popped into my mind and that includes the one escort I read an ad for that requested $900 per hour. If that's who she markets herself to...the more power to her. I certainly won't judge men who go after escorts for "blow and go fun."

meh....

My comments aren't about rate at all fang. Couldn't care less what an SP chooses as her rate. It's 100% hers to decide and I'm ok with that.

Amy's post about filtering does resonate with me though. And I'm not trying deliberately trying to bash SP's in general, or anyone specific - I'm just looking to explore the image phenomenon.

It seems like a game of extremes, with nothing in the middle. Either the SP presents herself as really being a classy, fun, interesting, and insightful read, or she comes across as a complete ditz nutbar, and not someone that I'd say to myself 'Gotta get me some of that!'

I'd liken some behaviour to the excess demonstrated by NFL football players, or Hip Hop stars and rappers - massive gold chains and huge diamond stud earrings, gold teeth, a jewel encrusted watch the size of a dinner plate, 47 exotic cars in the driveway of the $20million house, music videos that always show them on a private jet smokin' cuban stogies, or partying with their 200 strong entourage at some rented private villa in St.Barts. It's the bullshit image they project, even though in most cases its really all smoke and mirrors.

Makes me laugh at them more than it impresses me. So when I see the same nonsense being posted by SP's on twitter, that's the same image they seem to be projecting. Is this the marketing strategy, or is it really who they are in real life? and if it is real life, is that really attractive to some (or many)?

Are there really guys out there that eat this stuff up to the point it excites them and makes them want to book that SP?

Honestly can't remember if I follow you or not Amy. There's a couple hundred on there now, so I guess I'd have to check. If I do, your Twitter 'image' hasn't registered with me at all or I'd probably remember you there. I do however follow the classy and upbeat online presence you present here and on other boards, so would find it hard to imagine you fall into the other category on Twitter. Your adorable online personality is too effervescent to conceal! :biggrin2:

Good gosh, thanks! :kissed:
If you click on the Twitter link in my siggy, it takes you to my profile. Provided you're logged into your account, it tells ya if you follow me or not.

I always forget to tweet. My twitter profile is dreadfully boring but I also do not drink excessively, party, or waste my money on big ticket items. Mostly my twitter is to update location, availability, or to share new photos or reviews.

Nothing wrong with that.
