Actually... my earliest recollection of gas prices was 39 cents a gallon! I was too young to drive back then, but my father (a Dutchman, and therefore frugal to the point of fault), would drive to the other side of our hometown to save that extra .X cents/ gallon... In my hometown growing up, we used to have this discount gas retailer named Beaver... and it always had the best price around- problem is there was only 2 of those stations in our city... So I remember driving to the Beaver with my dad to get gas for $39.9 cents a gallon!tboy said:50 cent a LITRE gasoline?
Oh man, I'm going to show my age now, I miss 50 cent a GALLON gasoline...... I used to ride a honda 125 enduro and 75 cents would do me for about 2 weeks in gas. Then I got my licence and would ride it on the road. A buck a week in gas would be more than enough.
To put that into pespective... 1 Imperial gallon = 4.54609188 liters, so 1 litre of gas would be just under 9 cents, representing about an 1100% difference compared to today's price of about $1.00/ litre!!! (If I've done my math correctly...) :arf:
