I find I am being thrown back to the 50ties, 60ties and now 70ties again...

Jazz and the Blues is the same...Nothing new
Country will always be the same...it will never changed...I stay away from it...raying:
Rock...OMG...Jagger is still going and the Beatles .....What more is needed to say....
Regga...No difference
Pop....the seventies...just bring back the Bee Gees....
Even BollyWood...it is the same...

It all sounds the same....I look at the Younger Singers there is nothing different or new or original same instruments....they do not take chances....or maybe we at the point in Music that there is no originality anymore..

Maybe it me......
Does anyone heard a Group or a Person they feel original ideas in their music...from any Country...

there will always be artists that direct their music to a niche markets but do not expect to here them on commercial radio. College stations tend to embrace them.

I remember as a kid my parents following contemporary music right up until the Beatles.

But after them they had little interest at all. My dad was 48 at the time.

I made my dad listen to a whole side of Deep Purple's ''Made In Japan''. To which he replied this is just noise nothing more.

Now I stopped following contemporary music when grunge was popular. I was around 30 at the time.

So actually my parents adapted to the change in music styles far better than I did.

MB you have me thinking of my parents....They would listen to anything and everything...I remember their collect of music....it was all over the board...

We would be listening to Opera then Elvis to Pasty Cline back to the Hair Album...Tom Jones to some Italian Diva.....It was wonderful to sit back ...and watch my mother teach us how to Waltz, do some of the 50ties and 60ties Dancing to my Oldest sister teaching her how to groove with the Beatles .....

The Funniest of part we would end up watching The Pig And Whistle singing to some of the music.
My parents enjoy the energy music had we would have Calypso to some Folk singer from Kentucky
It was not all singers but Instruments....Indian, Native North American....to anything....

So I do enjoy finding something Usual ....

Some music have meaning to situations in life for me....Good or Bad....

I cracked the 50 year old mark earlier this year, looked at my CD collection and except for a half dozen or so discs dry heaved with revulsion.
I am currently listening to classical in particular and the only concerts I go to now are BPO and TSO.
Don't even get me started on the shit that some youth listen to now.
