Made with Love

What makes someone a SO?

When they start using the bathroom and leave the door open?

How would I know I've never had one.

Not sure there is a definition. I think it is up to the couples to decide. Why not just enjoy it without worrying about that? Once you define it, rules, constraints, expectations....possible disappointment, start to appear. You're together, you enjoy each other, the rest will take care of itself.

If there are no rules, no constraints and no expectations, that's a FWB. That's not what I'm looking for these days.

LOL, nice. Another thing I don't want.

Is it inevitable that the Heat dissipates as a relationship progresses?

With true love nothing is inevitable.

You are so correct. The heat lasts about a year and then slowly routine and boredom sets in sexually speaking.

I find it harder and harder to live with someone as I get older and more set in my ways. SillyGirl be sure it's what you want before you declare him to be a "BF" and be extra weary about moving in together.

I was just thinking the other night that I don't think I could live with anyone again. I like my space, and I require a certain amount of solitude to maintain my sanity. I especially enjoy not sharing a bathroom with anyone.

About declaring him a BF, I might have done that already if it weren't for there being a situation in his life that I'm not sure I can deal with. I've always maintained that one should not get into a relationship with a list of things to change about your partner and their life. If you know you can't tolerate something long-term, you shouldn't go All-In.

I'm tempted to give it a go, though. I really like this guy.

I'm at the same place in life, and doubt I could ever live with someone again. I never want to sleep in the same room as someone else, let alone the same bed.

You can't fall in love with someone's potential - you have to love them exactly as they are (especially men), because they'll probably never become who you wish they were.

when you buy a 68 Mach I, you do not hire someone to turn it into a Corvette.

Hell that's easy with me....No potential. Nor am I who I am. :p

SillyGirl, I think you've answered your own question. Perhaps wait until he's dealt with the issue you find hard to accept before you commit whole heartily balls to the wall monogamy.

Totally agree.

It's a family thing that I don't anticipate will ever change. I need to watch it play out some more and decide if I could deal with that shit as a GF. :dontknow:

You are dating Jack Reacher?

LOL. I was just laughing the other day about how he has left something in my apartment every single time he's been here. It's kind of weird.

He's marking his territory, it's a guy thing. It's worse with MM peeing in your boots when you're not looking

You were warned about him when you were hired.
