What the media ignored: 25,000 peacefully demonstrate against G20 policies in To

Very true, the mainstream media doesn't question government action or challenge the status quo like they used to. They're part of the problem.

Yes there were peaceful protests, but I was more interested in the violent protests and disruption of Toronto as it affected my weekend and was not able to have a routine weekend in the city. The media coverage of the dangerous aspects of the protests helped me avoid these areas for my mine and my own family's safety.

I agree, the regular protesters were completely discredited or ignored in favor of the riotous Black bloc.

Whether this is accidental, or by design, the government should be quite pleased that the court of public opinion rests in favor of LE and against the protesters who demonstrated their causes.

Bravo, mission accomplished.

It is sad indeed. These people have a right to protest, but a few try and derail the process with idiocy, and it is those people the media focus on. Perhaps it is our own fault for wanting excitement in our news. Unfortunately, in some cases even some of the press arrange it so they become the story. It is truly sad.

I have genuine sympathy for those who's voices were not heard because of media "tunnel-vision" and the actions of the extremists. Even more sympathy for those who may have been arrested or detained for "preventive" reasons.

Thanks for posting this Arianne, it's incredibly important that people are aware of the peaceful protests and their messages : )

The sad thing is that in this video age of 15 second sound bites and lack of critical thinking, images of idiots setting fire to cop cars and smashing store fronts will always trump the coverage of legitimate protest and points of view. That's what those fuckers wanted to happen because it's all about them and their crazy notion that there is a class war going on and their tactics are justified. They have ruined this weekend for all of us.
