What % tip do you leave your server?.

So many debates can be had but Unfortunately, waiters that have to work the to go line only make slightly more per hour than a regular waiter and still rely on tips. The system is broken, too many new jobs are service jobs in hospitality and food service.

It is becoming unsustainable for people to live but there is still demand for these jobs. Something's gotta give

Remember what happened to Danny Meyer?.

Shake Shack founder Danny Meyer banned tipping at his restaurants — but employees say it has led to lower pay and high turnover

No fixed rule. Great service is very well rewarded. Very bad service gets nothing more from me than bad attitude. Everything else in the middle is a game time decision.

I tip 10% on to-go orders, but I intend it for the kitchen. I don't feel the need to tip someone if all they do is put my food in a bag and take my money.

Dining in, 20% if the service is good. The amount goes up or down as the service level does.

A couple of weeks ago I intended to leave a $6 tip. Realized later I had left a $25 tip, lol. I'm sure the service will be stellar when I go back. Funky & Music

I'm a 15 % tipper most of the time.

I'll go 20% for outstanding service or I have a server that I just click with. But that is rare.

Food cost have started to escalate with the increase in minimum wage and I take that into tip consideration always.

Conversely I rarely leave less than 15%. There would have to something seriously wrong for me to do that.
