What was your first job like and do you remember how much you made?.

I was delivering newspapers in the early 70's making $10 a week.

Hard work before going to school but worth bragging about it.

My first job was actually at the CNE selling peanuts, popcorn, hot dogs and such at the Grandstand during Argo games. I didn't make much, maybe $10 on a good night, but that was a lot of money for a 12-year-old in the 60's. It was fun, but lots of walking. I would be exhausted by the end of the game.

My first real job was at a hospital, and I made $3.75 an hour. It was not much fun, and I didn't last long.

Delivering the Currier Express in the Buffalo area........I had 27 dailies and 110 Sunday papers..............I averaged 30 dollars a week in tips.
Not bad for 1972.

I started out babysitting and I think I made 50 cents per hour. My first real job was at McDonald's where I made $2.15 per hour and I supported myself on that income when I got kicked out of the house at age 17.

My first job was working in my dads wrecking yard. We lived on the property and my mom ran the office so I was toodling around there in my diapers. I started putting away tools and being a general pain in the ass as soon as I was old enough to tie my own shoes. He started paying me .25 cents/hr when I was 10. At 18 I was making $1.75 for him but he paid for my car/insurance/gas. I worked there till I was 18 and started escorting. I did a couple of short summer stints at an amusement park making $2.11/hr at 15/16 years old but he pulled my car privileges to get me back. And people always wonder why I found it so easy to be a provider which makes me laugh. I grew up surrounded by men; I just get them AND it beat being a grease monkey which were my only real life skills...

Before turning 14, I did the lawn mowing and shoveling snow, and even helped out at a Korean convenience store up the street. When I turned 14, I got a job as a page in a library and made 5.71 / hour. Lasted 8 years!

I'm really feeling like the odd one out haha, first unofficial job was mowing the lawn/shoveling the snow for neighbours at $10/house. Then went on to work in a warehouse part time and made $125~ a week

Working on a little farm/summer camp for $6.45 an hour. The job itself wasn't bad but couldn't stand the lady who owned the place!
