Made with Love

What was your first job?.

I started out as a full time baby, a position which most of my friends believe I've never actually left. Like others have mentioned I too delivered newspapers and spent all my money on arcade games.

I also delivered the morning paper.
Had 30 dailies and 110 Sunday papers.
was like 1972/73 and I averaged 40 bucks a week with tips.

I loved gettting tips! There was a couple who tipped well and requested that when I delivered the paper, I knock on the door and lay it on the kitchen counter which as adjacent to the door. I didn't even have to set foot over the threshold. Boy have times changed. I often wonder what happened to them.

I would have the papers delivered by 5am M-S and by 7am on Sunday.

I don't see any kid doing that today, even if we still had a morning paper worth reading

Now that you mention it, my last two paper "boys" have been middle aged south Asian men. The current guy drives down the street and throws the paper at my porch. Love it when he hits the front door at 4am.

My first job was Christmas help at Canada Post. I can't remember the pay but I do remember leaving the first day with tons of paper cuts. I didn't like the job at all and the after a few weeks Sears Canada called and offered me a part time job.

Now that you're all grown up and earning big bucks, you can blow it all on tasty treats the French call .

:biggrin2:

Hey stop encourage BONBON touching!

McDonalds. I hated it. It inspired me to stay in school and study hard.

Deliverin newspapers, followed by stocking grovery shelves. First "real" job (while in university) was McDonalds for a mind-boggling $2.25 an hour!

Babysitting, then worked at the first McDonalds to open in Canada and was making $2.15 per hour when I got kicked out of the house and had to support myself. Remember we used to get a free meal for every 4 hours worked? That's how I survived, lol. Ate a Big Mac every day for a year and lived! Still love their food.

I honestly dont think its safe at all for children delivering newspapers especially when they have to collect money from adults. Too risky as there are pedophiles lurking around.
