Made with Love

Whatcha reading?

I'm going to read this, thanks HOF!

I understand your point. Taking care of your parents obviously took a toll on you. Your comment about not being selfish struck me as thought-provoking. It's not just the desire to want family to take care of you when you are old. It's also the absolute joy that can come from parenting, and the legacy that we try to build through our kids. I suppose those desires could also be deemed "selfish". Still, I cling to the thought that I can foster and nurture a human being who will be better than myself and contribute to our society beyond what I can do in my lifetime.

Fiction: Atlas Shrugged - Ayn Rand

Where the Wild Things are Maurice Sendak

Might well be the best book ever written. The philosophy is absolutely flawless.

The Old Dog Barks Backwards - Ogden Nash

(thought I'd give some poetry a chance)

The Iliad - Homer

I am a few years late but just found out my favorite writer passed away. Yes I have been living under a rock,

He was an extraordinary man. Physician, writer, director and producer -- few people have done so many things so well.

Thanks to BWhisk, I now have a copy of Mark Helprin's Winter's Tale, my most favourite book of all time.

Oh, I can so relate to this. I used to read so much more before the Internet came along.

I can't remember the last time I held a book in my hands, other than my bible and the phone book, but I read online all day.

Currently reading Cosmigraphics, a look at cosmology over the past few thousand years with lots of magnificent illustrations.

As a life-long amateur astronomy (with a Masters in Astrophysics done just for the love of it) I love seeing this kind of thing.

On the fiction side, plan to start Conn Igguldon's War of the Roses series when I have a few hours spare.

I'm currently reading Adams' The HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy
