T, why wouldn't you have a least a couple of weeks of holiday time unless of course you've been with the company less than one year or are working for cashola?? Nothing wrong with working for cash, I say stick it to the government (mobsters) every chance you get

So I basically "use" my vacation pay to live on so that doesn't leave any for a real vacation....

(plus I lost 3 weeks this year due to cataract surgery and since we don't get any sick days, I used any time I could afford up....)

I think they are allowed to give you only one week because they are paying you the vacation pay. The law if I'm not mistaken is the minimum is 2 weeks paid holiday not that you must take it off.

Yeah, I dunno what they have to do by law, but considering we're building the "elite" of country homes, last one I worked on was around $6 mil you'd think they could afford to pay us well, and take care of the outrageous distances we have to travel to get to some of the sites.....

T, you're not with a Carpenter's union or some form of trade union? I thought most workers on construction sites belong to some form of union if it's a fair size company.
