Have you ever been to an under 10 years old hockey or soccer game and the parents are screaming at the ref for stupid calls. Or at the kid's coach for not playing them much. Also the swearing that goes on there between parents is simply stupid.

My rant to the parents that push their children to live their dreams. Fuck Off. If you were not good enough to succeed in a sport don't push your kids. Teach them well, don't act like idiots.

Let the kids play without fear of reprisal or criticism of the parents.

Yes, we should encourage our children to do their best, but when the children are more well behaved than the parents? Well, then there's a problem! :grrrrrr:

I could give you horror stories. Grew up a hockey fan, ended up coaching Rep hockey. The problem kids all come from problem parents.

For example..... 14 year olds. we were away at a tournament. ( I had no child on this team) I was the head coach and put in place an midnight curfew as we had a semi final game the next morning. I went through the halls of the hotel at midnight to ensure that our players were calling it a nite. One of the parents challenged my curfew time and told me I was wrong. The boys are 14 and should be able to stay up as long as they like. I replied that before they signed up to play I had given them a set of rules and tournament situations like this were spelled out in the rules. That the boys owed it to their team mates to follow the same rules as everyone else.

So. not to be outdone the parent went and rounded up his kid and a few others and set them up in one of the rooms with beer and porno's so they could stay up as long as they wanted without getting in trouble from the coach.

Unfortunately for the kid....... he didn't make the team the following year.
