"WHEN A LIZARD CAN, WHY CAN'T WE?"
Must Read This.. Very inspiring Story

In order to renovate the house, a guy in Japan breaks open the wall. Japanese houses normally have a hollow space between the wooden walls.

When tearing down the walls, he found that there was a lizard stuck there because a nail from outside hammered into one of its feet.

He sees this, feels pity, and at the same time curious, as when he checked the nail, it was nailed some years ago when the house was first built.

What happened?...............................!!!
The lizard has survived in such position for so long !

In a dark wall partition for many years without moving, it is impossible and mind-boggling.Then he wondered how this lizard survived so long!!! Without moving a
single step - since its foot was nailed !

So he stopped his work and observed the lizard, what it has been doing, and what and how it has been eating. Later, not knowing from where it came appears another lizard, with food in its mouth.

Ah! He was stunned and touched deeply.

For the lizard That was stuck by nail, another lizard has been feeding it for years...

Imagine ! it has been doing that untiringly for such a long time, without giving up hope on its partner.

I've seen this one before. I believe it is a hoax but does make you think.

Like this one but it still makes you feel good.

Our 14-year-old dog Abbey died last month.
The day after she passed away my 4-year-old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey.
She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her.
I told her that I thought we could so, and she dictated these words:

Dear God,
Will you please take care of my dog?
She died yesterday and is with you in heaven.
I miss her very much.
I 'm happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick.
I hope you will play with her.
She likes to swim and play with balls.
I am sending a picture of her so when you see her you will know that she is my dog.
I really miss her.
Love, Meredith

We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey & Meredith , addressed it to God/Heaven.
We put our return address on it.
Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven. That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office.
A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet.
I told her that I thought He had.

Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed, 'To Meredith' in an unfamiliar hand.
Meredith opened it.
Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, 'When a Pet Dies'
Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope.
On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey & Meredith and this note:

Dear Meredith,
Abbey arrived safely in heaven. Having the picture was a big help and I recognized her right away.
Abbey isn't sick anymore..
Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart.
Abbey loved being your dog.
Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep your picture in so I'm sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by.
Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me.
What a wonderful mother you have.
I picked her especially for you.
I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much.
By the way, I'm easy to find.
I am wherever there is love.

Love,
God

stories...that's just what they are...both are urban legends...I couldn't find the lizard one on snopes but there were numerous other sites showing it to be fake...

People, please, do a little research before furthering these "too good to be true" stories because 99.9% of the time, they turn out to be b.s.......

I mean think about it for a second....if anything got nailed to a wall, it would be very injured......shock might kill it immediately. Then you have infection, nails are not sterile.......then you have the fact that if it is INSIDE the wall, and the nail came through the outside, whatever the nail is holding is on the outside so it wouldn't be pinned, just pierced. It would have been able to pull its foot off the nail.

Then add to the fact that most exterior walls are sealed...how could a lizard get in and out? I'll tell you: it wouldn't.

Most of the time, stories are meant to inspire and to encourage.

There two types of stories - fact and fiction - both are necessary.

I believe that it is unkind to point out flaws in fiction - just as it is unkind to tell a child there is no Santa Claus.

Hope and Imagination have helped us create some of the Greatest Inventions in History - fiction became fact.

Just say'n.

while that's true, what becomes an issue is when fiction is promoted as fact....and with your santa claus analogy, eventually everyone learns there isn't one.....to live your life believing in something like santa claus, well, you get muslim extremists blowing up children....you see, believing fiction is fact can be dangerous.

Now using fiction to say, invent something from an idea you got in a book, that's fine....but to say to someone: there are transporter devices on trains...well, then swearing by it, then well, you might get a visit from the guys in the white coats.......

The funny thing is, this isn't anything new. There have been urban legends since man lived in cages. The best is (and my neighbour told me this one about a month ago lol and swears it is true) is about a "guy" who bought a new truck that got 100 mpg....when he took it into the dealership to see what was wrong (yeah ok right) they wanted to keep the car because he had an "experimental" carburator....and my neighbour swears this happened 2 years ago....

The problem is: trucks haven't had carbs for 10 yrs......DOH and I heard the same story when I was 14 living in toronto.....

So the OEMS must be really really stupid to keep making this mistake lol.....

Sometimes, A story answers A need of A reader at that moment in time.

I think that is why these boards work so well - they meet A need - not ALL needs.

That's all I meant.
