When is the right time to put on Christmas decorations?

My neighbor was putting his out this morning. Isn't it too early?

I usually wait till the end of the month or beginning of December?.

I can see people getting them set up if there's some nice weather now and they want to take advantage of it, but it's too early to light them. End of the month is ok.

I hate how long Christmas lasts now. The stuff is in the stores before Halloween! I'm tired of it before US Thanksgiving.

Every year I want to have my shopping/wrapping/shipping done early. It rarely actually happens.
