only really have been to the durham area and brampton . so just want to know where there would be best to visit next. i do not drive so its all about the train so it would have to be worth the cost of transportation and hotel

I'll put the vote in for Ottawa. A little pre-trip preparation and advertising and it could be worth your while. The Train trip from TO to Ottawa is nice, and so are the flights by Porter from the Island airport.

The train I can do.. but I have a deathly fear of flying. never done it but even thinking about it i get a mini panick attack

You could do a northern trip:

North Bay, Haileybury, New Liskeard, Sudbury, Sault Ste Marie, Kirkland Lake, Timmins, Thunder Bay, Espanola, Orillia.

There's some mining areas up in James Bay.

I'm sure that you'd do well.
