Who drives a stick?.

It used to cost less to buy cars with manual stick shifts. Is that the case anymore?. Asking because my kid destroyed his car yesterday and looking for a low end used car.

When I want to drive and have fun, I drive a standard. When I want to get somewhere and not enjoy the process, I use an automatic.

I've driven manual transmission most of my life but now that I drive an SUV it only has the automatic option. I believe the manual transmission option was always about $1500-$2500 cheaper than the automatic transmission assuming that is still the case today. To the OP - if your son is looking for a good used manual transmission vehicle I'd recommend Mazda in a heartbeat.
