Why are you off on Sundays?.

Why are many businesses closed on Sundays which could be their biggest earning day?.

Per example, mechanics.

Don't you think they would make a killing as most do not work on that day and have time to get their cars maintained?.

If you own your own business, you need a day off to gather your mind. You may lose money on that day but make up for it during the 6 days that you are open. Closing Mondays may be another option.

Having happy and rested staff will give you more staying power. Giving them a Sunday off once a week should recharge their energy.

they wouldn't make a killing... the same amount of car work will be done, but it'll be spread out over one more day. its not like anyone say, gosh darn its Sunday I guess I just have to stop driving forever and take a bus. The first person to offer Sunday hours might make a killing, but once it becomes the norm, there would be no more advantage and the mechanics with either have to hire more people to work that extra day, or have fewer days off.

Anyway if your mechanic doesn't offer a shuttle to get you where you need to be, get a new mechanic.
