Here is a long shot. But if anyone can help I am sure the owner would appreciate it.

Matt Blakeman can’t understand why crooks broke into his Whitby house and stole his puppy earlier this week.
But he’s hoping whoever has Nala, a 10-week-old boxer, also possesses a heart and returns his pet.
“I don’t care about anything else,” Blakeman, 28, said Friday. “I just want my puppy back.”

Durham Regional Police reported bandits broke into the house in downtown Whitby, some time between 6:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday.

“We don’t believe the dog was the target,” Sgt. Bill Calder said. “We believe taking the dog may have been an afterthought.”
He said it’s possible the thieves have since sold Nala.

“If that’s the case, we want that person to know they can return the dog without any fear of repercussions,” Calder said.

It’s a pig’s life at a B.C. farm that has birthed its very own Babe.
Mirroring the hit Hollywood movie where a pig befriends a dog, that very scenario has occurred at the Wild Moon Organics farm, just outside Armstrong in North Okanagan.

Sophie, the runt of a litter of 12 Berkshire piglets, was adopted by German Shepherd, Duke, after being taken in by the farm’s owners.
According to Richard Quiring, the farm’s co-owner, Sophie wasn’t strong enough to fight for her mother’s milk, so his son rescued her and nurtured her back to health.

A few days later Sophie had formed an unbreakable bond with Duke.

Now the pair is inseparable and can be seen sharing a meal, snuggling up for a nap or just hanging out.

“Sophie has the run of the yard. She doesn’t go to the pasture where the other pigs are, she just stays in the yard and hangs out with Duke and enjoys her freedom and the sun,” Mr. Quiring said.

The usual friendship has saved Sophie from becoming part of the farm’s pork program.

Mr. Quiring said Sophie is now part of the family and will be kept on the farm as a breeding mom.

“Very few are kept back as breeding stock, but for her it was an obvious choice. Whether she was a boy or a girl, once she became part of the family she separated herself in terms of her status around here,” he said.

Feeling good and happy today!

Found $20 yesterday, got a free computer table today, the sun is shining, the sky is clear blue, birds are singing, flowers blooming ... etc, etc, etc.

Dog day afternoon

Two massive dogs share the window of a pickup truck as they enjoy a warm spring drive in Dartmouth, N.S. on May 30, 2014.

Tough to view but just reinforces the believe that there is no better friend than a dog.
