A few slight corrections, if you don't mind:

All Guiness in North America comes from Ireland. There are no licensees anywhere else except for their Extra Stout, which is licensed to a brewery in Canada. The label will clearly indicate where it was brewed. The black colour is iron in the water.

Alcohol would have no effect on heartworm. Myth.

Alcohol has the same effect on dogs as humans, and is processed the same way internally. I let my dogs have a few sips, not bottles. There is zero clinical evidence that small quantities of alcohol are bad for dogs. And yes, I read the literature.

We'll agree to have differing opinions on this, althouhg there is no clear scientific evidence either way according to my last lit search. My mom was a vet in NS (retired now) and she says she's never seen anything wrong with small doses, but then I guess it's like anything: "small" means different things to different people (and dogs).

Most people enjoy going out drinking with their best friends, but a different man's best friend turned up to a beer festival today to get a taste of some of the 900 ales on offer.
Barny, of the Harveys Brewery, enjoyed a nice, cold pint at the Great British Beer Festival, at Olympia in London.
The pooch was seen sniffing and sticking his tongue into an ale along with thousands of people who turned up for the start of the annual four-day event.
The Great British Beer Festival is organised by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) and offers visitors the chance to explore over 900 real ales, ciders, perries and international beers to discover their perfect pint.
The UK's biggest beer festival features more than 350 British breweries across 27 different bars as well as fantastic entertainment, including traditional pub games.
Barny, however, was not on the judging panel which named a Welsh beer, described as a modern version of a traditional bitter, as the best in Britain.


The South Wales-based brewery Tiny Rebel won the prestigious Campaign for Real Ale award for its Cwtch brewery. The Welsh word translates to cuddle, or affectionate hug.
The company, based in Newport, started in a garage in 2008 where co-founder Bradley Cummings made home brew at weekends.
Tiny Rebel was officially launch in February 2012, and within a year was winning awards.
Mr Cummings said: 'We were brought up on real ale and we love traditional styles. Cwtch is our modern version of a traditional bitter, with extra hopping for a more pronounced bitterness and aroma. It's new world and old world all in one.'
Nik Antona, Champion Beer of Britain director, said: 'The Champion Beer of Britain title is the most coveted titles in British beer.
'For over 30 years brewers have put forward their real ale in the hope it will win and this year Tiny Rebel's Cwtch is a very worthy winner of this prestigious award.'
