I post the threads and make the comments that I have made in the past for one simple, over-riding reason:
I see the world differently than most others. And like everyone who posts on this forum, I want to post my thoughts.
For example, when I drive by an Animal Hospital, I see that dogs and cats get access to private healthcare while humans are denied that right. And I take notice of that.
When I realize that people spend $4,000 on surgery for their dog but profess that they couldn't afford ANY private healthcare for themselves, I take notice.
When I uncover that, in Canada, we spend - by way of taxes - $5,000 per person on healthcare; or in other words, $20,000 for a family of four, yet we proclaim $1600 monthly premiums for American healthcare coverage is unaffordable, I take notice.
If you get rid of all your biases, you too, will take notice and realize the world isn't as 'the group at the water-cooler' tells you it is.
I am a libertarian and I want as much freedom as possible. No, that doesn't mean allowing drunk drivers the ability to travel 220 km down a city street. But it does mean working toward minimal government and maximum freedom.
So, yes, I realize that I piss people off. But, without people like me, EVERYONE in the world would still believe that 15 hijackers with box-cutters took down 3 planes because all 600+ people on board those 3 planes were too scared to risk fighting off the hijackers and reclaiming their lives.
Group think (agreeing with your peers) is what brought us slavery. It is what brought us mob-lynching and illegality of homosexuality. It is what provides all of the abuse and excesses of government.
You might not respect me or understand, but people such as myself are SUPER important to this world.
