Why isn't it mandatory for service providers to have tests done every year?.

Catching diseases common in this industry?. I was reading agency ads and Sexy friends Toronto has the right idea.

Would you now visit them more than any other agency?. Any other agency that has this protocol?.

How often do independent providers get checked?.

We are taking health matters into our own hands and Sexy Friends Toronto is one of the first agencies in Canada to introduce every 3 months mandatory health checks for our ladies. This will ensure the safety of our ladies, clients and make sure that all of the ladies on our roster are DD free.

Since it not legal there wouldn't be any regulations. Most SP seem to get tested regularly. It's us clients that rarely do it.

I'm not sure why the OP thinks this is a simple expectation. I will share my experience. When I started at a well known agency, I asked the owner about STI testing and what the protocol was and they didn't really say anything other than just go get tested on my own and they didn't want to talk about it anymore. Especially after Bill C 36 a lot of agencies took down all indications that they are "selling sex" off of their websites, so it would be quite unrealistic to expect the owners to implicate themselves by openly advertising that they make all their ladies get regular STI testing and facilitating that. This makes for an argument that they are managing the girls for sex like a pimp would. Some owners will be comfortable and some will not about "mandating" such tests with their staff. It's their business and their ass on the line (legally speaking) so I can understand both sides on the matter.

Now I have not heard first hand from any ladies I know that they have had any issues with contracting STI's themselves, but I have heard numerous times about them having to turn away clients who seem to "hobby frequently" who showed genital warts or HPV and were completely oblivious to their bumps being abnormal.

Along with numerous polls myself and others have done on Twitter it always comes back that while 1/3 of clients in the hobby are going at least quarterly for testing, 1/3 of them are NEVER being tested. Now - you wouldn't want to see a sex worker who was never tested for STI's would you? Why are clients exempt from responsibility on testing themselves?

We don't want to see clients who never get tested for STI's, as well as engage in risky behaviour (BBFS, pussyslides, etc).

There are a few indy ladies who get tested every 4-6 weeks, most of us that I know go every 3-4 months depending. I have no idea how often the majority of agency girls get tested as i haven't asked a large group of them about this specifically. Remember a lot of new girls are only there for a few weeks and quit or work only occasionally as well so it would be hard to say what the majority are doing and how often they should get tested.

The most important thing is for you to get tested, and then of course be sure to practice safe hobbying and be vigilant about genital checks before engaging with a new partner.

The sexual health clinic near me only does a urine test unless you're showing symptoms of something. I figure they know what they're doing.

I go every three months. I have a Google alert set up. Makes things easier.

I also screen well, which helps to keep the "frequent hobbyists" away. A lot of us attract our own customers away from agencies. Quite frankly, for Sexy Friends to do this could have legal repercussions, but if they're ok with that, that's what matters.

That said, I think frequent clients would be well advised to get tested independently. It will also put my mind at peace.

Quite frankly, the onus is on the client to understand what is going on in his/her body, and to get tested accordingly. No I don't ask for proof, but the likelihood is that if he's understanding of the policies I put in place, he's also understanding of other factors involved and how best to play safely.
