Woman Who Sleeps With Married Men For Free Trips Claims Not To Be A Gold Digger
This headline is ridiculous. It sounds like it was written by someone whom no one would invite to go anywhere, even 'Dutch Treat'.
There is a HUGE difference between asking for something, and accepting something offered to you. There is also a huge difference between offering something with or without strings attached.
If I walk by a street vendor, selling discount merchandise which may or may not have been stolen, the option to purchase is available, but not implied. There is no obligation on my part to spend any money, but there is the opportunity. If another vendor shoves a guitar in my face, and asks me if I want to buy it, that's rude and intrusive. It's the same thing with someone soliciting spare change. If they have a sign stating their intention, the passerby may or may not wish to make a donation. If the person requests money as you pass by, it's panhandling.
This was why I, and many other men, stopped going to strip clubs. In the old days, no self respecting dancer would ever hawk her wares; she'd just walk around the club, smiling or giving the eye to some patrons, and she'd look for signs of interest. If you didn't seize the opportunity, you might not see her walk by again for the rest of her shift. If you missed your chance, you'd need to walk around the club to find her, or hope for the periodic comet to return. It was all part of the game.
Later on, very average looking women decided to become peelers, because they don't understand supply and demand economics. By their reasoning, if another dancer was an 8, and she was making $600 a night, then if they were a 4, they should make half as much. It doesn't work that way. A man spending his money on tail is not obliged to distribute it equally. If he plans to buy 20 dances on the night, and there are 20 dancers in the club, he doesn't need to be 'inclusive', having one dance from each. It's much more likely that 1-3 dancers will receive 80-100% of his money, and that's all good; no one has a right to receive voluntary contributions, nor do they need be distributed equally, when doled out by an individual. A funded charity may have an obligation to assist anyone requesting aid, but an individual does not.
When marginally attractive women became strippers, and used the 'hard sell' technique, the experience became distasteful. Lots of guys were offended by dancers whom the guy would never hire, just inviting themselves to his table, ordering a drink for themselves, and telling the waitress that the guy would pay for it. That's a gold digger.
If the guy offers to buy a drink for a lady that looks thirsty, and she accepts, he's just saying that quenching her thirst is more valuable to him than the cost of the drink. Accepting the drink does not convey any obligation on her part, whatsoever. If she takes the drink, and gives it away to someone else, the guy should take a hint, and not buy her another one. If she stays and talks to him, he's gotten his money's worth. It doesn't mean any more than that.
If a guy has good tickets to an event in a public place, and he invites an attractive woman to go with him, there's a good chance she might accept, if she wants to attend the event without having to buy a ticket herself. She might even have a boyfriend, who doesn't have tickets. The guy might think it's a 'date date', particularly if she gets dolled up, but she doesn't; that's just how she dresses for events. Most guys never get that. They think that, if a woman goes out with them in public, they are dating, and they should make a public announcement to their buddies. They don't understand, if they subsequently get 'ghosted', even if they were on their best behavior. He thought 'strings were attached', she didn't.
This also applies to a dinner date. A guy might hope to get a BJ, if his date orders the lobster, but she has no obligation to do anything other than remain present for a particular length of time. Offering to pay for a fancy dinner shows preliminary interest on the man's part. Accepting the offer only indicates that the woman does not find the man repulsive. What happens next is not contractual; there is no specific performance implied.
A woman who accepts an offer to go on a vacation with a man should expect that the guy wants to bang her. If they have separate rooms, he's either weird, or overly cautious. If there's one room, and he's weird, she'll probably excuse herself, hang out at the bar for a while, spend the night somewhere else, and exchange her return ticket for a different flight. Most intelligent people find that they are more likely to receive what they want if the 'earn it', and it is freely given, than if they request something specific in return for something given voluntarily. There's an acronym for this: YMMV.
