In short, Solo’s USNWT contract terminated as well as as a suspension of six months by the U.S. national team. She’s charged with calling the women’s Swedish soccer team “cowards” after a US loss in the Olympic Finals because she felt the Swedes played a safe game.

She just said what everyone else was thinking.

Seems like an overly harsh sentence for dissing your competitors. Male sports stars get away with far more, and still get to keep their jobs.
