Made with Love

Would you hit a girl?

She was causing a disturbance way before that. He chose to engage her verbally when he should have stopped the bus and gotten her off. He has put his job in jeopardy along with the income for his family. I hope he doesn't lose his job over this.
I would think there is a radio on the bus to contact the hub and let them know what is happening once the bus is safely stopped.

In this day and time, you have to be smart, she may have been bating him into this all along.

AND LET ME BE ABSOLUTELY CLEAR, THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HITTING A FEMALE!
It is about using your head.

You guys have better eyes than me LOL, looks and sounds like a fist hitting a chin but then again T's right, if the knuckles connected she probably wouldn't have been able to get back up.

And with her yapping she would have broken at least a couple of teeth.

I agree with Tranny on this one. The way management will view this video will more than likely cause hardship on the bus driver financially At the time he got up, walked over and threw the punch. This video has sound and the bus driver threatened a beating prior to her laying her hands on him. If he had stood up as she was throwing punches and put her down it would have been more excusable. I can tell you if this was the TTC he would lose his job. He may get it back after a long drawn out battle launched by the union but if the police were to tack on charges he'd lose his job indefinitely.

it says "will be terminated" but right now, he's under suspension.....

As for what would happen if this was the ttc, the jury is still out on that one......on one hand, with our pc society, he'd probably be charged, arrested, and given 20 yrs to life where we normally give murderers only 5 yrs.......but since drivers have been caught driving drunk, and not lost their job, well, who knows? it's only supposition at this point....

Sorry, but with all the videos of drivers being attacked, I don't know how anyone in their right mind would advocate firing him.......maybe he didn't do anything when it was just a verbal sparring match because, well, it was just that.....when it turned physical he had no choice but to react......

No, the article contradicts itself.

"...Transit Authority announced it is investigating the incident and fired the driver."
"Mary Shaffer said the unnamed male bus driver will be terminated."
"
Upon review, the driver was removed from duty and suspended."

The status is unclear. Anyway, he will likely lose his job and the mouthy little bitch wins. You have to be smarter. As soon as she engaged him verbally, she became a distraction to the driver, he should have stopped and removed her from the bus.

If he attempted to remove her from the bus it would have escalated the situation either way. He should have phoned it in to his superiors or used a cell phone to call Police and let them do their job while keeping his.

Yes I would hit a girl but only with my dick! :biggrin2: Now if she's a lesbian and is the man in the relationship, then if she wants to get down and dirty bar fight style I'm all in!

while I agree, it is easy to armchair quar****ack the situation from our nice cozy little homes.....and we can't forget that the whole situation occurred over only a couple of minutes......I think before any action should be taken against the driver those in position to make that decision should put themselves into the situation first......

What the powers that be are doing is giving free reign on anyone who would think to assault a bus driver....I mean hell, eariler this week there was a video of a driver getting cold cocked by some punks and everyone was aghast at it....now what's different here? because she's female? because he defended himself?

his mistake was not pulling the bus over and calling 911.

That would have been my reaction to her verbal and physical assault.

Should he be fired?? yes
my reason for this is his reaction was not the only option he had.
I am also sure driver training addresses issues such as this.

A similar situation happened to me at my office with an irate customer several years ago. She was so angry she came nose to nose too me and I just had walked in as she was arguing with my colleague and assumed I was his backup. The top of her head reached my chin and the last thing on my mind was to deck her. I backed away, I walked straight over to the phone and called in security who escorted her away. If she had started swinging I would have grabbed her and held on but I wouldn't have had the heart to throw a punch. Perhaps I would think differently if a woman was carrying a weapon, I don't know.

Weapons have no gender

you take them out with extreme prejudice

You're right, a person threatening with a weapon needs to be put down quickly.

I have a buddy who's daughter is into martial arts. She's the sweetest looking thing and has a great head on her shoulder. I've seen this 17 year old take out grown men sparring and competing. As much as many in my generation find it hard to ever hit a woman, some I know can hold their own if not downright kick our asses.

you mean the training he had 15 yrs ago when he first got the job? lol......

Seriously, I know what he did wasn't probably the best thing he could do, but by firing him, those that be are simply saying: you can do whatever you want on our buses, and assault our drivers...have at it.....sorry. I don't buy into that...everyone and I mean EVERYone has a right to defend themselves without recourse.

As for simply subduing her....he tried to get her off the bus and couldn't.....so simply manhandling her wasn't an option.

Does the bus have a radio? Last time I rode a bus it didn't......
Does the driver have a personal cellphone? I dunno and neither does anyone else here.

So, basically you're saying, the driver should have sat there and taken his lumps or stopped the bus and run....which he'd be fired for leaving the bus unattended....

Should he be disciplined? yeah, probably.....fired? nope...no way...no how......

Women can be very dangerous.
I know a woman who was having a problem with a guy at work and ....well him being a South American made a very derogatory comment to her about her.
She offered to kick his ass. He said off company property and like a fool actually showed up.
One of his coworkers called me and told me about how humiliated the guy was. He had road rash on his face.
I pointed out that even though she's 5 foot naught and 100 pounds tops she also has a black belt in karate, and a mean temper.

Dangerous or not, due to my upbringing, my brain is deeply embedded not to hit a woman. NOw if she has a weapon, I don't have a choice in this matter as I would be dead!

That would have been fun to watch!

that's what I bet a lot of these female bullies are counting on......they can say anything, do anything without recourse....and once again, the authorities who fired this bus driver and re-inforcing that.....

Here's a question:

If the abusive passenger was a punk kid or a man, would you feel the same way?

Yes. Once the distraction began, regardless of the gender of the passenger, he should have stopped the bus.
