Stabbing people with her knife.

But there was hardly any reaction from those people who got stabbed, that's what puzzles me. :search:

At 30 seconds you didn't see his reaction?

Yeah, I saw that but it was the reaction of somebody swatting a fly away, or trying to avoid dog-shit on the road. Not what I would expect from stabbing victims. They just kept walking or doing whatever they were already doing, just slightly more puzzled afterwards. It seems to me that whatever this "sharp object" was, it couldn't have been all that major, nobody was rolling around in pain or a pool of blood. However, it's possible that whatever she's stabbing them with, it could be coated in some sort of toxin, which would make it more serious and more interesting. Right now, it just barely seems like a local news story in New Orleans.

Someone slashed the tires on more than 150 vehicles in North Vancouver the other night, some had all 4 tires slashed and some were also keyed!

WTF??

Here's a unique sight - a great horned owl swimming. Apparently two Peregrine Falcons forced it down into Lake Michigan..

I was not aware that birds of prey attacked other bird of prey species. I thought they would steer clear of them; most animals avoid eating carnivore meat, except aquatics, and reptiles. Normally, falcons and owls would have no beefs in mating protocols, so attack motivations would be minimized.

Those falcons must have been very hungry, or the water's too polluted to eat the fish in it, or the owl must have pissed them off. Oh, it's Lake Michigan, more polluted because it's shallow, like lake Erie, for the same reason. This is kind of like two guys on the basketball team shoving a kid on the football team into a locker at school. You wouldn't expect to see it happen, ever.

Different species of raptors will regularly fight each other over prey and over territory, and I've watched it happen myself many times. Birds of prey are some of the wildlife I've studied and photographed for years.

I did not know that.

There was this Bald Eagle battle earlier this year that got widely reported.

@ blackram: Here's the Mosport race from my GPL Legends - Back to 1967 videos. The stats at the end show the order of finish among the gamers who were driving in the league:

You might be able to find these somewhere online. Use 'barchetta' in an advanced search, if you want to try to find them, but expect to find them in much larger .wmv files. I re-encoded mine to smaller .avi files, with no detriments to the frame size, nor the quality, to my eye, at least.

Ottawa man threatens Canada in purported Islamic State video

An Ottawa man believed to have joined the Islamic State in Syria is now appearing in a video threatening “indiscriminate” attacks against Canada.
A six-minute video purportedly produced by the IS and posted to the Internet Sunday shows John Maguire, a 23-year-old former Ottawa student, describing the recent killings of two Canadian soldiers as a “direct response” to the mission in Iraq – and threatening further attacks if Canada continues with its air strikes.

“You have absolutely no right to live in a state of safety and security when your country is carrying out atrocities on our people,” says Mr. Maguire, who is identified as Abu Anwar al-Canadi in the video. He is believed to use the Twitter name Yahya Maguire, with postings critical of the fighting in Syria, but has not written on the social media site since October, 2012.
A former classmate identified the man in the video as Mr. Maguire.

After the revelation in late summer that RCMP were investigating Mr. Maguire, the Canadian Security Intelligence Service said that more than 100 Canadians have left the country to join extremist movements.
“I was one of you. I was a typical Canadian. I grew up on the hockey rink, and spent my teenaged years on stage playing guitar,” says Mr. Maguire, before describing his conversion to Islam.
He goes on to accuse the federal government of “eliminating the rights” and waging “crusade” against Muslims.

“Terrorism remains a real and serious threat to Canadians, which is why we must remain vigilant,” said Minister of Public Safety Steven Blaney in a statement after the release of the video. “That is why we are taking part in the coalition that is currently conducting air strikes against ISIL, and supporting the security forces in Iraq in their fight against this terrorist scourge.”
