WWE.com has broken the story that William Moody, known by all of us wrestling fans as Paul Bearer, has died tonight at the age of 58. Here is their official statement:
WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of William Moody, aka Paul Bearer. Moody made his WWE debut in 1991 as the manager of The Undertaker and went on to become a memorable part of WWE over the course of the next 20 years.
Our deepest condolences go out to Moody’s family, friends and fans.
No cause of death has been given yet. Bearer last worked for the WWE in 2012 when left him locked in a freezer. Paul Bearer "died" many times throughout his WWE career; unfortunately, this one is real. Bearer will go down in WWE history as one of its greatest managers, and he will sorely be missed.
I think I speak for all wrestling fans when I say that we are all saddened by the news of Bearer's death and that a bit of our childhoods died along with him. It's ironic that the news of Bearer's passing comes the day after the WWE's legendary phenom The Undertaker returns.
Rest in peace, Paul Bearer, we will never forget your large contribution to the WWE, especially in its Attitude Era. Gone, but never forgotten.

Reluctantly have to admit being a big Undertaker/Paul Bearer fan when the WWF was at it's height of popularity.

Sad to see a lot of the people involved in pro wrestling meeting an early end.

Like boxing, they got too many hits in the head. Fake or not still a physical sport-entertainment game to play.

I don't believe this was the case with Paul, he was only a manager. His health problems surely stemmed from his obesity issues.

Ah, memories of being young and actually wondering if it was a fake or not....
just like most breasts today. :-Cool/"

WWE was fake :SayWhat?:

I might have been 10 or 11 when I realized that Pro-Wrestling was fake.

I am truly shocked at the fact people my age still watch it.

But then again some of my generation still start the day with a joint.

58 is so young. Condolences to his family.
