What is with the wild people screaming and cheering for fake action?.

Watching TV and was astonished at the amount of women and men screaming while the fake acting was going on.

Who watches this stuff?.

Do you?

Yes..Thanks for the correction. I guess you were/are a wrestling fan too.

Can you smellll lelelelele what the ROC is cooking??????

The babes are hot and some of the promos are hilarious but no I don't watch it.

BTW it's the WWE, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) took Vince to task years ago and they had to change it to the WWE.

I never understood the appeal for wrestling either...

or maybe a hot Latina

I never could see the appeal either.....and yeah, it's soap opera for guys. I did follow it for a while when Cyndi Lauper got involved, and her manager (can't remember his name).

It was the sort of thing I followed casually out of curiosity . One interesting tidbit was what happened to Randy Macho Man Savage's wife Elizabeth. She left Randy for another wrestler Lex Luger and died of a drug overdose.

A real eye opener for me was the harshness of "the biz". I saw a documentary on the wrestling circuit in Northwestern Canada and some big names from the old WWF were on the cards. It was disgusting what these guys were putting up with. I remember Jake The Snake Roberts was there and Coco Beware (the guy with the birds). They were in a curtained off area of a dive gymnasium and their toilet? A green garbage can in the middle of the area.

If you watched the movie "The Wrestler" that just about sums it up. Nowadays some have gone on to mainstream movie careers (Steve Austin, The Rock) and Jesse Ventura into Politics.

I never did really get "into" it, it was more like a weekly movie. The funny thing is, the real die hard fans don't believe it when you tell them it isn't real, that it is all staged. I think the same people believe Chris Fake Angel is a "real" magician too......

LOL @ tboy!

For someone that doesn't "get it" you seem to know a helluva lot about it!

I remember seeing pics of this girl:

And thought! Wow, maybe I better pay more attention... I didn't even know she was a wrestler! LOL I had to look it up.

Well, I know a lot about the freaking twilight series of movies but I don't get them either (nor have I watched any of them other than the first, and that was enough lol)

Captain Lou Albano I believe.

It's scripted sure but that doesn't mean it isn't hard as hell to pull off. I had three friends of mine who tried to get into it in the 80's. Now these guys were all big and muscular and had the look but all bowed out after a few months.

Killer kowalski had a school that was from what I have heard was just brutal. 80% drop out rate or there around.

For the people who don't understand it. It's just controlled violence in a fantasy setting. Pure escapism on a primal level. Nothing more nothing less.

Now MMA has taken over that landscape pretty well swallowing most of their fan base.

YEAH Captain Lou Albano.....big slimy looking guy.....

Killer Kowalski...shit I remember that name from "Championship Wrestling" in the late '60s.....

As for scripting, you can see in The Wrestler they kind of go over what their plan is before the fight, and you can see them whisper in the opponent's ear during the match. I have no doubt that they get carried away sometimes (and actually carried away in a stretcher like that one who had his neck broken by a pile driver and the guy body slammed him twice afterwards....).

Yeah, MMA is better because it is real, but I have yet to pay for a PPV show. Thank god because I'd be pissed if I spent $70.00 on it and had the main events last 1 round or be a joke. I've seen some of the highly touted matches and thought afterwards: fuck thank god I didn't pay big money for this.....If I had I'd be writing Dana White for my money back.

One thing about WWE wrestling, you sure do get your money's worth, no 30 second fights there.

It's staged but I agree with Maurice it's a tough way to earn a buck. These guys are good athletes and make it look easy but when a 300 pounder flies through the air and you have to break his fall, no matter what it's going to hurt. It's the reason every wrestler is on some form of pain killers.

Which one of you scrawny bastids is this?
