Made with Love

Your favorite dinner when you were young?.

I'd say my LEAST was steak. My mother had the "idea" that you had to cook it to death to kill all the bacteria. Unfortunately it ended up like shoe leather.

My mother was the same! She still won't eat a medium-rare steak because she thinks it's not cooked enough.

For me as a kid, spaghetti and Hamburger Helper. Still love both but now I add veggies to my hamburger helper like spinach and broccoli. :smiling:

Veal chop (equivalent cut to a ribeye) with mashed potatoes

There used to be a pizza place not far from where I lived that made a REAL PIZZA. Corn meal under the crust, the perfect blend of toppings, it was a thing of beauty and pride. I went there again not long ago and asked the owners why their pizza wasn't as good as it was 35 years ago and the reply surprised me.
It was a front for a gambling and money laundering operation back then so they didn't care if they made money on the pizza.

I'm surprised no one has said pussy yet :aggressive: :banghead:

Where is that Ang guy :music:

Sorry I was busy eating something the wife made for lunch

We had Hamburger Helper all the time, mom was not a great cook. I can't even think about HH without get a little queasy.

I grew up on Meat Loaf day after day and I get nauseous now when I thinking about it. My favourite food was simply eggs sunny side up with (pops, don't look) bacon.

I love Kraft Dinner. My mom adds tuna, ground beef/chicken, peas anything really. It's so versatile.

Tomato soup...

still love it, warm or cold.

with a grilled cheese sandwich of course!!!

BTW: isn't cold tomato soup just tomato...juice? lol.....

Back when I still ate meat I was out with the folks and ordered a med/rare steak and she almost barfed lol.....it was melt in your mouth good and she still thought you had to turn it into shoe leather.......

Funny thing how I discovered how to properly cook a steak: I was out camping with a bunch of buddies and we brought along a portable BBQ. I had mentioned I didn't like steak and my gf cooked hers and kind of forced me to try a bite of hers....(HER steak you pervs lol)...and OMFG that's what it's supposed to taste like? I even got to the point of cooking it just this side of frozen and searing it hot on both sides to hold in the juices.......now? Can't even stand the smell of cooking it.....bletch....and damn I miss my burgers!!!! (favourite is jalapeno peppers with sour cream....oh that was good!)

Favorite steak of all time: I went to a small restaurant outside of Epernay France, with a buddy of mine, had a steak that had to be a foot long, 6 inches from side to side and 2 inches thick. It was served "Bleu" - basically raw with the exterior charred. The restaurant raised and aged their own meat and the owner was the butcher and the chef. I've never had a steak like that again.
It was also the night that while I was in a bar a couple of young ladies joined us at the table and while I was arguing some silly point of politics with another guy the girl on my left said to her best friend "You know I'd rather get fucked in the ass then have to put a cock in my mouth."
Best night ever.

My favourite food when I was a little girl was a grilled cheese sandwich dipped in Heinz ketchup and it had to be Heinz.

Have to admit that pic doesn't look very appetizing. I make a relatively healthy version now though....I use skim milk, lean ground beef sauteed with onions, and like I said before, veggies like spinach or broccoli. Maybe add some frozen corn or peas. It's not bad - I like it! Tuna Helper's good too.

Also forgot to mention my grandma's potato salad. :-) She never gave me the recipe and while mine is pretty good, it's not the same as hers was....
