Made with Love

Zenyatta was bought for $60,000. Heck of a great investment.

Zenyatta, a giant 6-year-old mare based in California, has that effect on people. She’s the star of the show here, much more than just the favourite for the $5-million Breeders’ Cup Classic against the best horses in the world.

She’s Seabiscuit and Secretariat all rolled into one, except that she’s a mare running against top-class males, crushing them with her devastating stretch kick. And making it look as though it’s no big deal.

At least, that’s what she did at the Breeders’ Cup Classic last year in California when she became the first female to win the signature event of the two-day extravaganza, with total purses of $26-million. Now she’s back to defend her title on Saturday, but the field is seen to be even tougher this time and the race is over a dirt surface she has seldom faced.

I hope she wins!

The Breeders Cup in on ABC right now if anyone wants to watch with me. :)

Nice story. A female kicking males butts, gotta love that :666:.

arrrgggghhhh....live coverage switched to ESPN at 3:30, and it's being pre-empted by a #%%#^%$*!!! college football game that's in OT. The crawler says Breeders Cup is being shown on espn3.com, but when I try to watch it, it says its blacked out in my area.

I'm supremely aggravated right now!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Funny quote of the day

Talking head: What are the special qualities of this horse that make him really stand out?

Trainer: He runs really fast for a long time.

I saw the segment on 60 minutes on this lady. She was bought so cheap because she had ringworm or something when she went on the block.

The jockey said that he has yet to see just how fast she is. When she sees she's behind, she shifts a gear and goes. Then if she's not ahead enough, she upshifts again and GOES. He says even at her fastest he feels that she's not really straining herself. During training runs the jockey's HAVE to hold her back and fight with her the whole time to keep her from blasting away....

She's quite the lady too. She loves kids, is really friendly, and preens and prances when she hears the roar of the crowd. She even likes guiness beer lol (and they tried feeding her something else and she snubbed her nose at it).

I always like the underdog stories. Thanks, Tboy.
