14 Dead at Shooting in Colorado Batman Screening

It is indeed a horrible incident and a tragic waste of life. I really feel badly for those victims.

Some are asking the question whether or not the shooter was imitating a scene from a 1986 Batman comic book.

Whatever the motive, the shooter is really a sick individual.

The problem is just there isn't enough good decent parenting. Kids are corrupted with evil shit from watching violent videos games. Mario was the beginning now days there are so many kill the world games that is becoming scary.

So I guess the people going to see the Batman movie got the 3D experience

Too soon???

Remember when the Challenger Exploded? I sent Howard stern a joke 3 minutes later. "NASA - means need another seven Astronauts"

Remember when 9/11 happened? I wrote a joke for Gilbert that he had intended to catch a plane, but couldn't get a direct flight because "they said they have to stop at the Empire State Building first."

Please google the lyrics to the song Folsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash.

And...yeah it is too soon.

Supposedly one of the dead had survived the Eaton's Centre shooting here recently was killed in the theatre. I've also read the shooter had just graduated medical school.

can you believe that? I mean holy fuck.....(by the way, it was confirmed)....to survive that shit then go down to colorado and get killed...fuck talk about bad luck.

Well dumbass, the reference was made to another member's comment, so before you comment about drugs read the entire thread.

Good luck with getting the death penalty in Canada, it won't happen.

the thing is, a recent poll said the majority of canadians favour bringing it back.....I for one would say that video evidence or similar would have to be present in order to have that on the "punishment/sentence" agenda. Too many times people have been wrongfully convicted by corrupt prosecutors, police, judges etc.

Bernardo is a perfect example of how it should be applied however....I mean, they had him on video.....

The thing about the death penalty however isn't really a deterrant. If someone is going to do something like this, dying certainly wouldn't stop them because I think in many cases, that's their goal...instead of simply offing themselves, they want to go out with a bang.

I was reading some more about this asshole and he also booby trapped his house with explosives...supposedly the parents admitted that this act didn't surprise him because he'd exhibited signs that he'd do something like this.....I thought, why the hell didn't they do something BEFORE he committed this atrocity?

It would not be a deterrent in a case like this. This evil individual obviously has a few loose screws but at least we would never have to worry about him getting out nor will he enjoy the infamy he will receive from the media. He should be disposed of in a very painful way.

You want to decide whether it is too soon? Read the Sun today and the story about the mother who was shot and is still in ICU drifting in and out of conscienceness. When she is there she asks about her six year old daughter. Her daughter was killed. No one has told mom yet, and won't until she is off the critical list.

Now you've made me feel bad :Crying/:

I agree with Peace. This is world is seriously f...ked up. People need to be accountable and stop hiding behind some lame legal issues to protect themselves.

A father has told how he managed to escape the Dark Knight Rises shooting - but was horrified to realise he had lost his four-month old son on the floor of the theatre in the chaos.
The infant was rescued by his mother who had a shrapnel wound to her leg but still managed to drag the child and their four-year-old daughter to safety.

Who the fuck takes a baby to a midnight movie Damn-Not too smart

At least 3 men accused of making threats during or after watching the new Batman movie have been arrested in separate incidents, underscoring moviegoers' anxieties and heightened security in the wake of a deadly mass shooting at a Colorado theater showing the film.

A Maine man was arrested when he told authorities that he was on his way to shoot a former employer a day after watching "The Dark Knight Rises," Maine state police said Monday.
Timothy Courtois of Biddeford, Maine, had been stopped for speeding, and a police search of his car found an AK-47 assault weapon, four handguns, ammunition and news clippings about the mass shooting that left 12 people dead early Friday, authorities said.

Former graduate student James Holmes, 24, is accused of opening fire in a theater in a Denver suburb. The shooting also injured 58 people.
Courtois said he had attended the Batman movie on Saturday, although police have not confirmed whether he actually saw the film.

"I guess we're taking everything at face value," State Police Lt. Kevin Donovan said. "It's very scary."
Police searched Courtois' home later Sunday and found a machine gun, several other guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition.

"We don't know what his true intentions were," said Steve McCausland, spokesman for the Department of Public Safety. "Based on the arsenal that was confiscated, we brought in our counterparts from the FBI and ATF to assist with the investigation."

Courtois was charged with speeding and possession of a concealed weapon.

In Southern California, a man at a Sunday afternoon showing of the film was arrested after witnesses said he made threats and alluded to the Aurora shooting when the movie didn't start.

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies were called to a cinema complex in Norwalk after moviegoers said 52-year-old Clark Tabor shouted: "I should go off like in Colorado." They said he then asked: "Does anybody have a gun?"

A security guard saw Tabor with a backpack on his knees in the second row, but deputies who searched the bag, the theater and its surrounding area did not find any weapon.

Separately, moviegoers in Sierra Visa, Ariz., panicked when a man who appeared intoxicated was confronted during a showing of the movie. The Cochise County Sheriff's office said it caused "mass hysteria" and about 50 people fled the theater.

Off-duty Border Patrol agents tackled Michael William Borboa, 27, who had a backpack with him, according to The Arizona Daily Star. Authorities said it contained an empty alcohol container and a half-empty moonshine bottle.

Borboa was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct, and threatening and intimidating.

Despite some jitters over the horrific shooting, moviegoers around the country still flocked to theaters to see the film, which was the final installment of the phenomenally successful Batman trilogy. Warner Bros. reported that it brought in $160.9 million over the weekend, making it the third highest opening weekend ever, after "The Avengers" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2."

Christian Bale, who plays the hero, Batman, in “The Dark Knight Rises,” visited victims of a massacre that occurred at a screening of the film in Aurora, Colo., allegedly by a man who fashioned himself as Batman’s comic book arch-enemy, the Joker.

Bale spent about two-and-a-half hours at the Medical Center of Aurora, Bill Voloch, the interim president of the facility, told the Denver Post, adding that he met with five people being treated there and two others brought in from another hospital.

“It was good for the patients,” Voloch told the Post. “We hope it was therapeutic for them, and all the staff really appreciated him coming.”

Petitions asking the actor to visit Aurora were posted on Change.org following Friday’s shooting.

Over the weekend, Bale released a statement regarding the massacre, saying “Words cannot express the horror that I feel. I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them.”

Christopher Nolan, who directed Bale in the latest Batman trilogy, released a statement Friday expressing his “profound sorrow at the senseless tragedy” that happened in Aurora.
Anne Hathaway, who stars alongside Bale in “The Dark Knight Rises,” echoed their sentiments, saying, “My heart aches and breaks for the lives taken and altered by this unfathomably senseless act.”

I realize in joking, some of you can joke about this....it is a stress release....but when
you have lost some one who has being murdered, well you just don't see the laughter in it..

I try not to read things like this because it makes me so sad....I feel for them and there families.
Death is death and it is all part of life....either by accident, age, sickness, murder, military etc...
If you can joke about it with people you do not know then you must have a great joy when it one of
your family and you have a great big laugh at them........

Hey there is Grandmom died Dad....why not but her out on the Lawn for viewing....LOL
Or my husband has died, well lets take him out to the back and try out our new guns.....
Or wife has died, She was on the road and the car hit her.....too bad it did not back up and
run her over a couple more times so we did not have to buy such a big casket......How your kids
etc.....

In being funny it the funny things they did in life.....Like my sister....she was in an outhouse
when a bull attacked it....I still remember her screaming....:LMAO:

So much for the rumours of Bale being a douche.

Seems like a cool guy too me. Count me in as being a Bale fan from here on out.
