A Firefox Question

About a month ago I started not being able to view videos when I'm using Firefox.

At first I blamed an AddBlock update, but now I don't think that was it. I think there was a Firefox update around the same time but I'm not sure.

I googled and it said I should go to RealPlayer and disable it on Firefox, but when I went there it said RealPlayer was enabled on IE and Chrome, but not Firefox.

I tried un-installing and re-installing Firefox, but that didn't do anything.

Does anyone have any ideas on this? I like Firefox and don't want to stop using it, but I also like seeing videos.

I would appreciate any input. As an FYI, I am completely techno-stupid. So if you're going to try to explain something to me, please use small words and type very, very slowly...thanks!

You can have several browsers at the same time. Try loading Chrome and see how you like it, you can always jump back to Firefox.

The reason I like Firefox is because you can set it to not keep a history. If I get hit by a truck, I don't want my kid seeing where I've been online.

Can I do that on Chrome? I already have it but didn't think I could disable the History.

Tiny - LOL. It's just techno-talk that needs to be typed slowly, I can usually keep up with other conversation.

In Chrome, hit SHIFT + CTRL + n to spawn an incognito window that will not record your porn viewing.

You can delete History in Chrome by clicking on that little wrench in the top right corner for your tools.

The Flash update didn't do anything.

It's not just my porn I want to hide, it's everywhere I go.

Are you talking youtube videos? An example of what you are trying to view might be helpful.

It's all videos. Youtube, videos in threads here, videos on news sites. I also can no longer play Wordtwist.

Ok like I said I'm techno-stupid, so please keep that in mind if what I'm about to type is ridiculous. I run Avast which runs all the time, does that have anything to do with what browser I'm using? I thought it was independent. And before I log on to my bank or my credit card account I also run Spybot and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

Thanks for the info, I've not used IE at all but will check it out. I'll trade the slowdown for the privacy.

I only use Chrome in cognito when browsing as sometimes I come online from the office. It works great SG, doesn't track your history and super fast.

Ok, I'm trying Chrome. It seems faster than Firefox, and I can see video and play Wordtwist.

When I start to type in a URL, it brings up a box showing the previous places I've been. How do I stop that? Is it because I didn't go incognito? I thought I would just erase my history when I'm done. If I go incognito will it stop showing where I've been?

I hate technology.

the thing about adaware and malware is it won't affect your banking......only a keylogger or trojan would be used to garner any banking info. They use an ssl encryption method that is pretty much foolproof...I mean, maybe the NSA or CIA has software that could crack that encryption......and if you did have a trojan or keylogger, adaware scan wouldn't find it....you'd need a good quality anti virus program to do that.

I use kaspersky because I got a virus and had bell anti virus installed. They had an independant company contact me to clean my computer and they loaded all kinds of anti-virus onto my computer....and know which one got rid of it? Kaspersky. All the others didn't detect it......

oh yeah, one thing about google chrome: I read that they track everything you do and everywhere you go. That means if you log into a porn site, they put that into your database. If you do online banking? They track that too....if you do a search? yup, they record that.....

THeir reasoning behind it is so they can target you for particular advertising based on your browsing habits and in turn, use that as a selling feature to their advertisers.........
