Amy, it was definitely an interesting read. It's not a traditional novel with clear cut beginning, middle and climax. Well there were climaxes, several in fact, but it was certainly not a traditional novel, and I think that was your point. It really is like taking a trip through your memories as you skip around different points in your life. At first, it was a bit disconcerting for a traditional reader like me. But once I got a hang of your style, and learned to relax my logical mind, I began to enjoy it.

I would compare you with Jodi Piccoult who uses the meandering style a lot in her novels. The sex scenes were nice. Kind of a combination stroke story with bits of 50 shades thrown in. They weren't enough to make me whip out junior for a stroke and pull, but I did find them arousing.

Where I would offer some criticism is the use of letters to describe the real life people. I know you want to protect them, and at the same time, certain descriptions you give make it obvious as to whom you're referring to, but while reading, I found it to be distracting. I kept pausing so that I could try to imagine who D was, or B or A, and that act took me away from the story. I know it's based on your real life experiences, and I know doing that got you into some hot water, but perhaps you could have approached the project from an "erotic experiences loosely based on actual events" point of view and that would have satisfied your urge to tell your story, used actual but fictional names to protect your friend, and appeased those clients who could not accept you for the sexual person that you are.

Anyway, I'm sorry you couldn't finish the project, but I am thankful that you shared it with us and it was fun to take a trip into your memories.

Sex is very meaningful to me and sharing my sexual experiences is a meaningful enterprise, as was getting the green-light from other people involved especially celebrity friends/clients of my boss. People simply did not seem nearly as excited by it as I expected. I mis-predicted this. My bad. As for all the other criticism? Shrug. It's shelved so........moving on

For those who liked my writing...you may like to know that I am starting my first serious FICTION project co-writing with D. who is simply the best writer I've ever read. He hasn't published anything in years and has two other projects he's working on but is going to jointly write this with me. It's called JACK IN THE BOX about a 12 year old girl who vanishes from the cardboard box a 10-year-old boy is using for his birthday-party magic show...never to be seen again. It will be a thriller, a mystery, haunting, eerie and gripping!

The cover art and first chapter are now available on my site for free to anyone who wants to enjoy it. All positive feedback is welcomed! Petty criticisms unwelcomed

As a huge fan of Amy's writing, I was happy to hear that Amy was taking another stab at writing a book, this time a work of fiction. I read the first chapter the minute she made it available and I was not disappointed. I was hooked from the first paragraph and I can't wait for the next chapter.
