A simple and inexpensive way to boost your immune system, and improve your health is by taking a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, once daily. In the article I've included, they've recommended mixing it in water, i simply take it as is. Also, always buy the vinegar raw, unfilltered and with the mother:)

I just tried this, diluted it in a full glass of water.
It was awful!

I'm going to dilute it with a litre of Gatorade instead. :good:

After reading a few more articles, I'm wondering if it is worth taking. The last link I posted did point to science proven points as to it's benefits, but I think they were referring to vinegar in general, not just apple cider and as far as the "mother" being beneficial, that isn't proven. The taste will put some off, but for those who love vinegar, as I do, it is more than bearable:)

Some scientific proof....

Sorry MsC, but the words "scientific proof" don't work here...that's a mass-market article with no refereed journal or research citations. The fuss about apple cider vinegar has been around for decades, and there's no conclusive proof it has benefits that any research study can confirm. Doesn't mean you shouldn't take it, or even believe it works...but there is no firm evidence.

Okay, that I didn't notice, thank you for clarifying.. and perhaps it is all hoopla, who knows. I will say, since taking it (nearly a week-once daily), I've not craved sugar, which for me is a miracle. I was eating sugar, massive amounts of sugar daily,(my mornings would start with a couple bowls of sugar crisp/capt crunch/honey comb, then I'd have choc covered raisins, m&m's, or toffees, a pound or two, in the afternoon I'd eat a 50 box of timbits, or a bag of cookies, or a cake and at night usually mike ikes or some other jellied candy or pastry) and now, since consuming a tablespoon of this vinegar daily, I haven't eaten any or even craved sugar, other than what might be in my organic peanut butter, all week, and that's the longest I've ever gone:) So could it be mind over matter...maybe, but nothing else has worked and I'm tired of those around me worrying for my health and quite frankly I'm tired from eating all that crap for so long, So anything that helps, I'm willing to try and believe in, and this so far has:) If it fails, if I start eating sugar again, I'll let you know:)

You can buy apple cider vinegar at any grover store, I suspect. You may have to hunt in the vinegar section, but it's in all my locals in Scarborough.

Two more days, and no cakes, pastries, or candy, I did have a coffee yesterday with a pinch of sugar, but not because I was craving sugar but because I wanted a coffee and can't drink it with just milk. So for me this is still something I impressed with.

^ Primo those "Big corporate Apple" with all their propaganda surrounding apple pies, they too cause the rape of orchards and make promises they don't deliver on,:wink2: imagine pies on window sills, homecomings, family get togethers and happiness, all tied to apple pies, phooey...........lol!

Your lack of cake intake has nothing to do with the vinegar. It's self-control. People who talk about sugar cravings din't seem to realize that's the body's way of demanding energy, in most cases. Caffeine is a different story, and very addictive.

You eat apple pie around here at your own risk.

Well Og, I'd admit that if I thought that were the case and it's not. Quite frankly I have no self control, when it comes to foods. I've tried in the past, many, many times to give up sugar and with no success, I could go a day or two, then I'd give in because my body would demand more. I even worked with a Naturopath, and that would never last this long. Now, I've simply no desire to eat it, so for what ever reason this is happening, I'm thankful and will continue drinking the vinegar. As far as coffee, I've never craved it, I might drink a cup or two a week, if that. tea on the other hand, I drink two, three times daily, a green tea, detox tea, ginger, or some other flavor.

If you think drinking vinegar is working for you, then by all means go with it. Controlling intake of processed foods (including cakes, etc) is not a bad thing, no matter how it comes about and what neurological process is at play.

And good luck with the dietary changes.
