I worked for a few medium, a couple VERY large, and a few small companies.

In the VERY large corp, the president resigned. They didn't have one for a year (maybe 2, I knew it was a long time though). Know what happened? SFA. The company ran just fine TY.

The medium company. The Pres (the jaguar guy) got sick and couldn't come in for 5 months. Know what happened? SFA. The company ran fine TY.

Wipe out the executives from ANY company, know what will happen? SFA. The company will run fine. KNow why? They don't run the company, the people who make 1/10th their salary run the company. They just collect all the $$$.



The thing is, and you know this as well as I do, that even IF the bum fails and drives sales down, someone else will take the fall. Somebody who was qualified to do the job. For eg: Like in the movie, too big to fail. If the company is big enough, they just go to the governments and say hey, if I fail look at all the people who will lose their jobs....? gimme gimme gimme. And they go on cruising around in their million dollar yachts even though they drove their company into bankruptcy.

As I've said to others: where the fuck is MY bailout?

Although I am a unionist and union supporter I do not support the occupation mainly because the message is lost. T is making more of a case in this thread why we need to put a stop to corporate North American capitalism than the protester are accomplishing. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for an owner and his minions making money but not at the expense of the workers by forcing them to live in poverty while they enjoy the life of Riley!

But where is the poverty?!?! That is the whole thing. We can bitch and complain about the elite for all we are worth, but I really don't see much poverty, unless food, computers, medical care, cellphones and hookers is poverty.

Don't you think most of what you see is being pulled off with inflated mortgages, credit lines, credit cards etc...... most I believe are spending money they shouldn't be spending.

exactly. None of us would have a decent home, a decent car or a decent lifestyle if it wasn't for credit.

Yes, player has a point that we have all these things therefore we have a good life, but who profits by us having all these things? Not me, not most homeowners, the large corporations do.

Now take cellphones for instance: Canada has some of the highest rates in the world and as the Wind investor said: why isn't rogers competing elsewhere in the world like other carriers? Because they are protected here and don't have to due to their price fixing. Everywhere else in the world there's open competition and in the US, for what we pay for the basics, you can get full unlimited access....

And you don't see much poverty? Holy crap, I don't have the time to look up the stats but I read somewhere that 1 in 5 children live below the poverty line and demand on food banks is at an all time high. Take a drive down on Lakeshore in south etobicoke. Take a drive down around Cabbage town or sherbourne...jesus....

Funny, if we're in a recession, why aren't prices dropping on essential services like banking, utilities, food? They're all going up and up and up and who profits? Not the little guy on the street......

nepitism reigns supreme and anyone who doesn't think that way, probably has benefitted by it personally.

It's everywhere (escpecially at my job)and so obvious and yet, they keep hiring their own family members despite some of them are so ill equipped or qualified to handle the job. Meanwhile they continue to ask us to clean up after their mistakes while they collect their fat salaries.. Frustrating...
