Transient came on the same boat I did. We weren't looking for a restaurant business board. We wanted to read about hot sex and the lovely ladies who provide it. And we're just cynical enough to think that most guys who like to discuss getting their brains fucked out don't really have a lot of insight on running high end restaurants.

To the OP, take papa's advice. If you want to eliminate crying babies, bratty preschoolers and obnoxious tweenies, hire a lawyer to ensure you don't run into issues of discrimination of freedom of access.

Your choice is pay now, or pay later. And the upfront cost to avoid a lawsuit will be a helluva lot cheaper than hiring a lawyer to fight it or paying the penalty for losing the case.

Perhaps some members from here own a restaurant. I think it would be wise to share your concerns with other restauranteurs and they may offer you some valuable advice. I do like papasmerf's advice about obtaining a lawyer to protect yourself from potential lawsuits. Americans are famous for making all kinds of lawsuits.

2. No children's seating.
3. No children in the dining room.
4. No children after 4pm.
5. Adult dining establishment.

Regardless of how well behaved anyone's child(ren) maybe, it interferes with the quality of enjoyment for others. It only takes one time to make a bad impression and a restaurant gets crucified.

Im aware of more than 6 members of this board that own restaurants some are actually advertisers here.


I like the idea of nude art and a minimum age as a deterrent to young ones. At the same time if you have the space, a separate room can be used for families with young children.
