Advice. Thinking of changing from Bell to Rogers.

I got a call from a Rogers representative. To make a long story short if I change to them I can save almost 70 % per month on my two business lan lines with a three year term commitment. I called rogers to make sure he works for them and he does, so not a scam.

Anyone changed from Bell to Rogers?.

Why don't you renegotiate with Bell for that deal?
Note, cancelling with Bell, they may try and ding you for cancellation fees.

I have heard from a few people that they are very happy with Rogers. However in my experience they are both the same - government granted oligopolies that are too large and have customer service issues . It takes a lot of time to find the right person to speak to and or get a "real" problem fixed.

Just got off the phone with Bell asking them to explain why my bill was so high. She then explained to me that she can reduce it by 10-20 % if I take a three year plan. I said that is still much higher than what Rogers is offering me. She then went on to say she can transfer me to a supervisor and he may be able to reduce even more.

I then told her why do I have to complaint to get a better deal. They've been bleeding me for years.

Meist there will not be any penalties as didn't have years plan with them.

Just curious to know if Rogers is a reliable company for business lan lines.

Cancellation fees only if you are on a contract. Call Bell and tell them Rogers gave you a better offer and ask them to match or do better. They 99% of the time will do it to keep you as a customer.

I know of several businesses that have switched from traditional bell like companies to broadband based services.

Most are happy with the decision and experience higher data rates

my only warning is if the power goes out so does the ability to use the phone

where with a traditional land line or POTS line as it is known they are not dependent on your AC

Also broadband based lines are not acceptable for life safety devices such as fire alarms

No I was to upset with them for cheating me all these years. Rogers called back and now will be paying $10 per line per month as compared to $60 and faster internet connection. Keep the same number and no activation charges. All it takes is 10 minutes for the cable guy to change it and they will deal with Bell's cancellation.

Not bad. I use to have a land line with Rogers, I kept threatening to cancel it and they gave it to me for free (but I still paid a monthly service fee).
I finally got fed up with all the telemarketers (even after registering for no-call, still getting calls + faxes in the AM) and got rid of it.
