Amy's Listen to this with me

Sia - Elastic Heart (Saturday Night Live January 17, 2015)

This is from last weekend on SNL. I'm not sure if I enjoy this, but it's a fascinating performance. The little girl in the dance routine is named Maddie Ziegler. She's twelve years old. I don't know who the older dancer is. At first I thought it was a guy, but it's an older woman, without makeup.

Sia the singer is from Australia, 39 years old. She suffers from Grave's Disease, an autoimmune disorder with an overactive thyroid gland. People with Grave's Disease often have 'bugged out' eyes, which could be the reason why she wears a veil over her eyes, and does not face the audience while performing. I've never seen anything like this before. It's not something you will forget.

I used to have a client that insisted on bringing his Ipod into the session and play this during the entire hour, lucky for me he only usually lasted 15 minutes and then wanted me to grind on him with this song going and going and going.

It says ''This video is private'' Bob.

I have no problem seeing it on my computer, Maurice Boscorelli, but I was the uploader. If you can't see it on your computer, see if you can see it by going to the page link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FS8...4688&x-yt-cl=84503534&feature=player_embedded

All Saturday Night Live videos are blocked by YouTube shortly after the upload is confirmed, but they don't remove them; they only remove them from the search results, and only the uploader knows where they are.

If you're not able to see the video, chances are that something in your computer is preventing you from seeing it.

That video is on YouTube. I'm not doing anything illegal by submitting it to them. I'm just exploiting a weakness in their security. If they removed the video, I wouldn't be able to link to it. They just block it from the public, as a courtesy to NBC. If NBC has a problem with this arrangement, their beef is with YouTube, not with me. The forum video link isn't coming from my computer. If you can see any of the videos I posted in #501 - #507, you should be able to see the Sia video in #510.

Just because NBC doesn't want YouTube to allow the public to see videos from SNL on YouTube doesn't mean I have to comply with their wishes. NBC does that, because they have an exclusive arrangement with iTunes.

If I'm the only one who can see them, then I should make a thread of videos only I'm allowed to see, but I'll bet it would still get hijacked, out of principle.

Reverse, by the strangest coincidence, a sample of that song is included in an upload I made to ge.tt yesterday, for inclusion in this thread:

Essential Mix - Switch and Diplo (Major Lazer) (25.07.2009)

Essential Mix is a radio series on BBC 1 in the UK. This is a broadcast from July 25, 2009. Switch and Diplo are well known club DJs, who used to work together as an act called Major Lazer.

More about Major Lazer: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_Lazer

This is about two hours long, and is downloadable as a 128 kbs .mp3. The player on ge.tt can be paused, but cannot be fast forwarded, or reversed. The .mp3 file, however, can be opened with an app that has those functions, from the download button.

This is two hours of night club music. I got it on a private bit torrent site called thebox, that had television and radio content from the UK, including England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. The site was shut down in 2013, from pressure by Rupert Murdoch, who owns a lot of media companies, including Sky Broadcasting in the UK.

Sky has exclusive pay per view rights for certain sports in the UK, like Cricket and most Formula 1 races, and he doesn't want anyone to see those sports for free, even in countries like Canada, where Sky isn't available.

I have a few other Essential Mix shows, with different DJs, that I could put up, if people like this stuff. Unfortunately, I don't have the list of performers included in this mix, because the listing was on the download page at thebox, which no longer exists, and I didn't save the page as html.

This forum may be the only place on the Internet where this music can be heard.

Our favourite songs change from day to day, as well as from year to year. It seems though, that since 1966, this song would pretty consistently be in my top ten songs any time you might ask me for such a list. I'm not sure why either--something in it just resonates with me. Rudy Martinez (Question Mark) is a pretty weird and interesting guy too.

bolt.upright, please let me know if you can see the videos I posted on the previous page, or if you can't see them, like Maurice Boscorelli. I know somebody was able to see Dick in a Box, or I wouldn't have gotten a Likes.

I'm gone for the day. I have to teach my schizophrenic student, who's only allowed out of the hospital for his lessons with me.

They seem fine except the Sia one--I get the private message on that too.
