Apparently the kid was previously in a fight with another kid who wouldn’t return his prescription basketball goggles. The Asst. Principal called the police because she said she felt unable to de-escalate the situation. Cops show up and tell the kid to leave, but when he picks up his backpack and tries to leave, Officer Rigo Valles tells the boy that he shouldn’t have been rude and attempts to body block him.

When the kid says he didn’t say anything and asks the cop why he is pushing him, the officer grabs his arm. The 14yr old reached his hand over to remove the cop’s hand from his arm, since he was told he could leave and shouldn’t be assaulted and illegally detained.

Officer Valles, who clearly outweighed the kid and had a larger backup on hand, decided that his best move was to escalate the situation by choke slamming the 14yr old to the ground. His larger partner moves to the knew in the spine position.

Kashka Hughes, the student’s father, plans on filing charges against the police department.

“The police officer that was actually in this particular situation, he should have been trained well enough to know that this is a 130 pound child and that the action that was taken was totally unnecessary,” said Kashka.

The police are agents and representatives of government. Government is dishonest and abusive, therefore the police also behave in the same manner.

Everyone keeps blaming the police, but it is the government that is the problem.

The governments writes and passes the laws that the police enforce. The police are simply carrying out the wishes of the government.

I disagree. Lots of cops break the law and go against the wishes of the government, on and off duty.

If the government wanted the police to give candy to school kids and have those same police wash the cars of seniors in the afternoons, the police would do it, as directed by the higher ups.

The government wants the police to be dominant. So, the police are dominant.

I hate the police more than most, I suspect. But, when it comes down to it, the police are agents of government. So, government is to blame.

White people are no safer from the police than any other colour of people. I get pulled over more than once per month - more than 12 times per year - and I am white. Race has nothing to do with how the police treat you. If the police think they can take advantage of you, they will. They are Opportunists.

....very interesting as you see white female shoppers telling people to move away. One of these days, many shoppers who may witness the police brutality will probably interfere and attack the police officers. SO far it hasnt happened but it will. That's my future prediction.

I don't understand how that could be Ive been driving for over 40 years and have never been stopped with out cause. The only way the police can stop you is if the have probable cause. It must be your driving

The police can stop you for any reason whatsoever.

From a National Post article on the subject:

“Police can stop a vehicle at any time to determine whether the driver has consumed drugs or alcohol, to see whether the car is mechanically fit, to check whether the driver has a valid licence, or to ensure the driver has insurance,” Laura Berger, interim director of policing and public safety for the Canadian Civil Liberties Association, said in an e-mail. “The police may also stop a vehicle where they suspect the driver has committed a driving offence.”

Notice how broad the reasons are for giving police the power to stop you. You are disillusioned if you think the police only stop vehicles after a traffic violation has been comitted.

And even if the police were forced to actually have a valid reason to stop you, they can simply make up a reason. Their word, in a court of law, is given tremendous weight as compared to the rebuttal of a citizen. If the police claim you were swerving or driving dangerously, you are deemed to have been driving in that manner unless you can prove your innocence. Traffic charges are reverse onus charges. You have to prove you aren't guilty. The crown only has to let the police officer give his evidence.

In a democracy, where the majority or plurality rules, 120 km/h - not 100 km/h - would be the speed limit. The government imposes 100 km/h even though, clearly, people don't want to drive that speed.

The government uses force to enforce that speed. People don't want that speed. Clearly, most people - probably 97% of them - want the speed limit to be increased.
