Are you a thread hijacker?

One of the many reasons I enjoy HUBGFE is because the rules are "slightly different" from those on most other boards. :biggrin2:

Necrobumping and thread hijacking are fair rules of engagement around here, and I'm guilty of doing both, frequently. :blush2:

I'd just like to point out that most of the recent hijacks are papasmerf's fault. -/It wasn't me:-/

Most of us seem to not mind having our threads hijacked, but I thought I'd put it out there and let people know that if you find my hijacks to be exceedingly irritating, just shoot me a PM and let me know, and I'll stop.

If you find papasmerf's hijacks to be irritating - just shoot him. :biggrin2:

Not receiving objection is not the same as receiving approval.

If person A gives something to person C, it doesn't mean person A is entitled to take something from person b, or that person D can take something from everyone.

I'm sure many of them do mind, but they say nothing, because it won't do any good The thread hijackers don't care if people mind. In fact, they'll do it intentionally, whenever people do mind, because those people did mind. That I know, from first hand experience, from the usual suspects, multiple times each.

if you find my hijacks to be exceedingly irritating, just shoot me a PM and let me know, and I'll stop.

That wouldn't do any of the people who do object any good. One of the other people who hijack threads would just hijack it for you. PMs asking them to stop don't work.

That's why Polish factories have four hour shifts. The workers have to be retrained after each meal.

I already apologized to a few in specific and everyone in general in another thread.

Happy Holidays bob.

Apologized for what?

For having fun in a lobby discussion board?

Don't listen to them and do what you want to do.

Here I will start.

I don't believe in apologies, unless some remorse follows. Forgiving one's self is not the same as being forgiven.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, until I have reason not to.

I hope I never do, but my faith is weak. I'm from Missouri.

At the risk of having an unpopular opinion on this, I will say the reason I don't spend as much time here is because many discussions that start out serious turn into fluff. It's frustrating to share an experience or thought and have people ignore it and fill the thread with bs about bacon. It also makes it next to impossible for the reader who is looking for the on topic and relative posts to even find them.

That's all. You can carry on with your hijack now ;)

I am as guilty of wandering off topic as any. It's a New Year approaching and my resolution will be, to be more conscientious of the subject of the thread I am posting in.

Sorry for the sentence structure, still on the first cup of coffee.

I find the twists and turns are what makes for interesting reading. Otherwise, I'd ignore many of the threads...

Is it that fricking difficult to gloss over posts that don't relate to what you are looking for? Hell, I gloss over entire people in life if they have no relevance to me. Just move past it.

There ya go, being logical again. You should know there's no tolerance for common sense and logic around here! :biggrin2:

Very true and I do love to joke around with the best of them but some threads are not meant to be funny and some are suppose to be for fun.

I started this thread on Oct. 31st after a long hard year in the industry. Thread after thread of paranoid delusions, worry and fear concerning Bill C-36. People complaining about all the serious threads on all the forums, why aren't we having fun, enough of the C-36 threads all day every day.

I spent the entire last year researching everything I could find on C-36, then posting it on forums across the country along with reverdy, to help educate the entire onine industry. I supported Jessica Lee and her team on perb and cerb when the sex worker advocates disrespected them and tried to shut them up. I publicized TJB's request for email feedback from the industry across the country. I've posted dozens of threads on a wide variety of intellectual topics since joining here, and written multiple articles for the industry that have benefitted thousands.

A few of us deliberately tried to lighten the mood by being less serious for a while. Maybe the foolishness pendulum swung too far to the right, but things are already leveling out again.

One can be intellectual and funny at the same time.
