Badger Shaving Brush

I just upgraded from a Boar hair to a badger hair shaving brush. Holy hell, it's awesome. If you prefer shaving the 'old fashioned' way, you can't go wrong with one of these babies. I they it give a far better lather than any shaving cream on the market, (if a good soap is used), less razor burn and a far cleaner shave.



Hell, we have to shave every day anyway, might as well enjoy the ritual.

I'm in the market for a new straight blade too. The one I'm using now is about 60 years old. It was my grandfathers, then my fathers. Unfortunately they can only be sharpened so many times, and I think I'm at the maximum now as the blade itself is at a thickness that is difficult to grind down on any stone.

I had no idea they were in the $200+ range for a quality one. But, if it lasts for the rest of my life I guess it is less than pennies a shave and a good investment.

Absolutely, I've had my blade for about 15 years now. I'm still old school and enjoy a real close shave. I keep an electric razor handy in case I'm in a hurry but most of the time it's with my trusted blade.
