Best mattresses

I'm shopping for a new mattress, anyone have any brand names, types of mattresses they're happy with and would like to recommend? I've looked at and tweeted a lot of different sites and reviews, but hearing from some here may give me more assurance-thanks in advance.

Best thing for mattresses is to try them out for yourself in person. Some people like soft pillow tops, some like firmer ones. Is this one for you to sleep in alone, for work, or sharing with another person?

For me, for sleeping, I like a firmer mattress. For play, I like a bouncier mattress. For sharing with another person then ones with the pocket coils is a must.

For me it is not so much the name as much as the firmness.

I like a mattress as firm as a Hardwood Floor with a blanket on top of it.
Pillows should be just 10 degrees off a bag of cement.

I don't spend a lot for mattresses to tell the truth.

Just something middle of the road but I fork out for some memory foam which I lay on top of it.

Any particular type/brand of memory foam and, I had thought of doing that with the mattress I have since it isn't ten yrs old yet, but it is almost 18inches deep now, adding anything to that would make buying fitted sheets almost impossible. Memory foam seems to be what most are reviewing and liking in mattresses, and Amerisleep seems to be the fave brand online, I've had some success with ordering tires and other items online, and so was considering ordering a mattress,lol. Perhaps going to the stores laying on different ones will be best......

I bought my memory foam at Costco if I can correctly recall.

I do see your point about adding more depth and the sheets not fitting however.
