Best way to find apartment in GTA?

Looking for relatively cheap apartment in Mississauga/Etobicoke area.
I've never had to look for an apartment in a city before. Any ideas on the best places to look?

Look in classified, some people list them with Realtors. Try online classified too.

Lou perfect excuse to sample the incalls in the area you are looking to rent in. Call it research if you like, but it is a must.

The apartment isn't for me guys. No worries there.
Just trying to help out a friend. Young student, going to school in a couple of weeks.

https://www.viewit.ca/vwgta.aspx seems to be the best search tool so far.

Looking for a one bdrm or bachelor, maybe a basement apt.

Trying to avoid student housing or shared accomodations but we'll see.
