Things like this can happen to anyone from time to time. If you have a bloody nose for whatever reason, add dryness and mucous and not get it out, it can crust and be painful. The same can happen with ear wax; it will harden and be painful. Warm water in a syringe and flush until it`s soft enough to pull out is the way to go.

Yes, I know because this happened to my father when he was palliative and the nurses showed me how to help him. It`s still gross though.

As for the booger, we should turn this into the gross videos thread......hehehe....there's some good ones out there. HOF said it though...while gross imagine the relief? When I worked in a cabinet shop we had ZERO airborne dust collection and whilst it is gross to admit, I'd have some pretty good boogers by the end of the day. Yeah, I know, I picked, but it was either that or end up with something like that video.....
