There is a lot of hoopla here on the board about Bill C-36. Guys are afraid to post reviews, they abbreviate their reviews, the put ..... instead of naming the actual service provided. Here's my advice: CALM DOWN!

Here's my opinion on not being able to post explicits here and Bill C36. The government and Police do not have enough time or resources to troll these boards and have their computer experts "hack" into them to look up IP addresses and then go after those posting. It can only be done by a series of warrants. The first warrant would have to be served on the ISP of HUBGFE....The next warrant on the owner of HUBGFE....the next warrant on your individual ISP......the next warrant on the individual person (times how many of us! LOL). This whole process takes a HUGE amount of time and resources! But then, they have to prove who owns the computer and they have to prove that you actually paid for the woman's service.....and who the woman was (oh yes it was Buttercup. LOL) It's a series of countless dead ends!

IMO, this bill will fail to enforce charges against escort agencies and their customers. There will also be enough loop holes to ensure it! This is the government we are talking about. Besides, those making these bills like use escort services and they don't want to hinder the fun they have! :)

Bill C-36? Don't sweat it!

I believe most are on wait and see mode. I heard through my city sources some massage parlors or parlor was raided over the weekend. I don't believe any clients were charged but will this change after BIllC36, I'm not sure.

Bill C36 is a cruel punishment placed on us by the religious, unhappy retired sex workers now trying to cash in as abolitionists and a far right wing party risen from the ranks of the Reform Party of past years.

Depending on your geographical area LE will enforce these ridiculous new laws with the sledge hammer tool they've been given. Perhaps big cities will not be as aggressively enforced but rest assured, towns like Barrie, Durham etc... will face harsher enforcement.

Goldenburg, I agree with your assessment and that people should calm down. Especially, "...they have to prove that you actually paid for the woman's service." Using reviews to arrest someone is a stretch. It's a huge leap to connect a review to an act of paying an SP.

As I have said before, it was/is illegal to enter an incall with the old law. With the new law, it will be illegal to pay for sexual services. Both acts are illegal, so why are most people freaking out about committing an illegal act with the new law BUT were so non-chalant about committing an illegal act in the past and writing about it in the form of reviews? This reasoning just doesn't make sense to me. It's just fear of the unknown.

As per Madman's example, low lying fruit are massage parlours known to offer sexual services are targets of LE. Always have been under the old law and will be under the new law. Same goes for fly by night agencies operating openly and getting neighbor complaints. Reading reviews, tracking down the ID of writers, making a case that what was written is true...all of that is just too much effort and money for LE to pursue. As with the old law, don't get street walkers or go to places that are susceptible to busts (i.e. 427 motels, suburban residential houses, etc.) or don't buy sex in massage parlours or strip clubs.

I am responding to goldenbug's thread here because I agree with his assessment and am also disappointed with how the reviews are being censored. IMHO, the censored reviews are useless now. I write reviews to share my creative writing skills with members and I read reviews to enjoy their writing skills. The censorship (which I understand why the board is doing, but disagree) makes the reviews useless. Until the censorship is lifted, I will not be sharing my stories in public.

Goldenbug, how sure are you on your analysis?.

I won't say how I am sure, but, I am sure. LE, just does not have the time and resources to pursue this avenue of well run upscale agencies. In order to get all those warrants, there must be proof. In order to charge, there must be proof. Warrants will not be issued for this nor can anything be proven. If LE pursues this (and they won't) it will be like chasing a ghost! Reviewers, Board Mods, and Escort Agencies need to take a deep breath, step back and calm down!

I partially disagree with this statement. Agencies and Boards need to modify their actions so as to not violate advertising component of Bill C 36, which I think can be proved more easily than the case of reviewers writing stories for entertainment. I say to reviewers...

In Vancouver, yes I have a few sources which will not be named as I do not wish to risk their jobs, however and I suppose everywhere, it all depends on the municipalty where you live, they can choose to enforce or not enforce. The survival sex workers DTES and area, it is already known that they will be left alone, however they are still scared and may lead them to go further from the streets to more dangerous areas. Then you have Fraser Valley (Abbotsford, Mission, Chilliwack area) religious capital I here, I see those being somewhat enforced, but again they, I am told will let the street level ladies be, they have enough issues with poverty, addictions and homelessness. I see this being the way it is all over Canada. Oh and remember ladies what we do is still totally legal....lol you just can not promote your services what so ever.

Update: we have discontinued the use of filters to block certain words and acronyms for the time being.

All words and acronyms are acceptable to be used in Reviews and Discussion Forum Threads.

Sexually explicit menus, words and acronyms are still NOT allowed in Advertising Threads, as it is illegal for HUBGFE to host ads offering Sexual Services.
