it's about fricken time...what it'd cost? a trillion dollars and thousands of lives?

You know, I had a feeling that he was in Pakistan.........

Now he is just another martyr to the cause I fear.

I realize that it was necessary but I'm worried about the possible repercussions that may follow.

I was secretly hoping that he would die from natural causes to avoid all this.

I hope Al-Jazeera is showing images of Americans celebrating in the streets last night.

My sentiments also about him becoming the martyr. However, had he died of natural causes, there would never have been closure. I was hoping for capture, trial and jail which would have left him mortal and impotent in the eyes of the world.
Salute to the men and women serving who worked 10 years to see this result. Hopefully, their families will be reunited soon. The fight isn't over, not sure where the focus of the battle is from here on.

I think the problem would be with a live capture and trial would be all the wingnuts kidnapping americans all over the world and holding them for his release.....it is my understanding that with extremists, you either believe exactly what they believe, or you're just meat on a stick, to do with as they please.

Not only that...there would have been enormous political fighting about how/where/when to try him. The whole issue would have become a political football, with each party twisting things to make the other party look bad.

Our government here is really bad at working together for more than five minutes, no matter how important the issue.

LMAO talk about a CLM.....guess we'll be seeing him doing the weather in BF alaska lol...

what a knob.....

I just want to remind everyone: the difference between a hero and a villian depends on what side you're on.

I agree SG: our government isn't any better. I think too many have too many of their own personal agendas to effectively govern the people. I think politicians forget that they are supposed to do what's best for the nation as a whole, not their party, not their local constituents, not their state, the C O U N T R Y. State issues should be addressed at the province or state level.....

Take Obama's health plan. Ok, it might not be perfect, but what ever is? I mean hell, the US constitution is far from perfect, hence why you've had so many amendments. I hate to say it but sometimes a dictatorship isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Turns out sending some badass special ops guys into Pakistan is a more effective way of killing Bin Laden than invading Iraq.

Get ready for major retaliations. They are not going to take his death lightly.
