It took them a while to figure out it costs them more to make them than what it was worth.

Ummmmm..... the penny is still in use and will continue to be for many years.... they have just stopped producing new ones and eventually it will be phased out. Cheques and money transfers will still be down to the cent and eventually businesses that deal in cash will start rounding off. Guess we wont be seeing 99 cent sales anymore :Crying2:

Good riddance to the annoying little nuisance. Most retail transactions are via plastic so .43 and .99 are still valid. They just get rounded up if you pay cash. 99% of my cash purchases are for MPs and SPs and it has been a while since any of them had a 99 cent sale. So no worries.

I don't think it is right to round up because you choose to pay cash. I am sorry but I think that wrong and I will bitch when the day happens.

I would agree to a 1,2/6,7 round down and 3,4/8,9 round up.
